Coronado Springs Cleanliness?

I've had numerous stays at CSR without room cleanliness issues. Like a PP stated, guests are more likely to post negative than positive reviews. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

CSR is the only WDW resort we've stayed at over the last three years, most recently for 16 nights/17 days this past Nov/Dec. We switched resorts after a bad experience at CR in 2010. We always manage to persuade our way into Casitas 4, and have never had a bad experience with the room. Except for forgetting to put the "Do Not Disturb" on the door and being awakened by housekeeping at 8am.

We were in Casitas 4 both times and had no issues.

I am sure I have made my opinion of CSR known on here a few times. The only truly dirty room we have had in our 17 stays to WDW was at CSR in August 2012.

That being said, it is a gorgeous resort, with a great main pool area. There are more cons to the place (for us) than pros, but I cannot say enough for the front desk staff who went above and beyond to make things better, and the general vibe and atmosphere of the resort.

I think that you need to weigh online reviews - good and bad - with your own thoughts.

And, honestly, if you decide to go to CSR and things are bad....they will do what they can to make it right by you. Whether that is move you within the resort (which is what they did for us - from a dark, dirty, bug infested room in Cabanas to a 2 bedroom suite in Casitas), or they will move you to another resort if there is room. We had asked to be moved to Pop, but there was no availability - which is why they moved us to a suite.

You keep mentioning 8 years. I am talking about RECENT reviews on TA, and by some of the people on this forum. Not to many hotels at the rate Disney charges per night have such a low score for CS on TA. 67% is pretty low.

The post you keep quoting about the child having to go to the ER, that trip happened 8 years ago. 2006 according to the poster.

Also,I guess I don't understand why Trip Advisor is the be all end all. :confused3

If you check Orbitz CSR is given 4 stars. Travelocity gives it an 83% approval rating. Hotels.com has it as a 3.9 out of 5, and their breakdown gives it a 4.1 for cleanliness. But so many people are going OH TRIP ADVISOR DOESN'T LIKE IT, IT MUST BE AWFUL!! I don't know, but around here we all think of TA as the place people go to complain about their hotel stays. It is the last place I think of as having honest reviews.

As far as CSR having issues over time, every single Disney resort has had issues over time. Every single one. A couple years back it was pile on POR time. It runs in cycles.

I kind of hesitated to post this because this thread seems to be starting to get heated...but whatevsies :goodvibes. I went to TA to see what all this was about. Most of the bad reviews were things I am not concerned with. Many focused on it taking 10 minutes to walk anywhere, that café rix was busy in the morning, etc. A lot of them were business travelers so my guess was they are used to different style resorts when they take business trips. But all that seems standard for moderate resorts. I also saw the posted picture with the hair situation. It was 3 strands of women's hair. Would I be upset that no one cleaned it when I requested them to, sure. Would I request someone come to the room to clean that, nope.

We get it. You had a great experience at CS, but that does not diminish the other reviewers bad experiences at this hotel. You are doing exactly what you are complaining about. Thinking your opinion is correct and their opinions are wrong. Why are their reviews not as relevant and valid as your review? People have posted on this thread alone with bad reviews. One had feces on their sheets at this hotel. The logic by some of this board is.....Clearly if something was wrong at this hotel then it has to be just a complainer wanting something for free , and not Disney's fault. How dare they!

Heck, someone was even arguing about who had more hotel/sales experience on this thread. I guess if someone doesn't have the exact amount of experience as the other then their opinion/review is wrong and not valid. Really?

Another misconception on this board is that the only people that post on these review sites are the ones with negative reviews and who like to complain. Nonsense. Why do you think that you get average rating scores in the 80-90%'s on this sites? All hotels would have a 1 star rating if that were true. It's because of the positive reviews not the negative ones.

You say people on here have an issue with TA and their reviews. I am willing to bet some people have an issue with the fairness and honesty of the reviews from certain members on DIS. It is blatantly biased by some.

Have you not read the reviews from the members of DIS on this thread?

One thing you have to understand is this: There are alot of longtime members on DIS like maxiesmom who has 20,000 plus posts that have donated a considerable amount of time to "helping" those that come here with less WDW experience. Answering simple and complicated questions to help people plan a trip. It is unfortunately human nature for alot of people to focus on negative things. When you spend as much time as she has on DIS you get a little tired of negative people. I don't spend nearly as much time on here as she does and I'm tired of it. Somedays those members feel the need to counteract all the negative energy and give people another point of view.

The only real thing she has said is that these complaints aren't isolated to CSR and that there is the same % of complaints for the other WDW resorts. Which IMO is true. I haven't been to Tripadvisor recently because I don't find anything usefull on there for myself. However the last time I looked at the CSR reviews the one thing I noticed was that 4 out of 5 reviews that focused on something negative were from conference/business trip people. There expectations are obviously different than vacationers. Anyway I don't care where you stay, I'd actually prefer that you all stay somewhere else so there's more room at CSR for me.

Also, you just joined DIS about a month ago and almost your entire post history is in threads like this. So you will find the longtime members will react to that as its seems your purpose here is to talk people into staying offsite and complaining about resorts you have never stayed at.

Business Class is in Building 9B, Cabanas. I've also stayed in the Casitas section twice in the past, with no issues.

One thing you have to remember is that many of the people on this board with over 20,000 posts are people that I have on my ignore list.

I AM NOT REFERRING TO MAXIESMOM THERE!!!! It's just that someones propensity to post a lot is not something I necessarily relate to accuracy; experience; or any reason I need to value what they post. ONCE AGAIN, I am NOT referring to maxiesmom here.

I have over 25 WDW trips under my belt. ALL on property, mostly deluxe with some moderates sprinkled in.

If anyone asks me for a review or recommendation I usually just say to pick one that you THINK you'll like based on price and theme. I don't put a lot of stock in reviews except I just like reading them for entertainment.

Having said all that, I believe any review site is just as good as any of the others. They are ALL peoples reviews.

Just because you like a resort and one review site doesn't agree with you doesn't mean you are right or the site is right.

I didn't state that her opinion was more valid because of post count. I was making reference to the amount of time some of the regulars spend on here and offering a reason why sometimes the negativity wears on them. It doesn't always mean they're brainwashed by the Disney koolaid.

While members like maxiesmom's post count doesn't make her opinion worth more than mine I do show her more respect in this setting do to the fact she has helped 1000's of people with their questions and most of us have not.

Have you not read the reviews from the members of DIS on this thread?

Did you not read my post that you are quoting?

I specifically said I was referring to the reviews on trip advisor. Only on trip advisor. Because the last page or so of this thread has been an argument over TA reviews and if they are a good/fair source of information. I wanted to check out what they said specifically.

If I was applying an opinion to the dis reviews, I would not have started it out saying "I went to TA..."

I read your post correctly.....my point was why aren't you addressing the people on this forum that have had bad experiences? You feel that some of their issues aren't a "big" deal too?

We stayed in the Cabanas section last week and the Casitas section inFebruary 2013. Both times the rooms were clean and we did not have any problems.

when i buy anything. from a tv to a hotel room. i read product "official revues" and customer revues like on amazon or travelocity.

You have to take the good and the bad. use that to form the best opinion you can. but no one 5-star or 1-star review is the bible.

also, you have to read between the lines. Are things someone rants about like poor coffe important to you, or can you live with it.

or if the rave about great bar tenders...is that your thing.

finally. some people are good at people skills and can get things done. the fact that the OP stated she had to ask numerous times to get things done, to me shows the OP is just not asking in an effective way and the cast members are not wanting to help.

you have to show the cast embers respect. yes, it is a service industry. but people dont go out of their way to assist those who have a sense of entitlement. not saying the op is this way.

but "getting what you want" at a place like a hotel or bar or shopping is an art form. some poeple just dont have it.

Bingo!! Perfect answer. Don't belittle people because their experiences were different than your experiences. I am happy that other people had great rooms at CS.

Ok stop trying to bring me into the argument about validity of opinions. No, you did not read my post correctly. I never once said anyone's issue on here wasn't a big deal. Ever. Not once. You are just plain making things up.

The entirety of my post said I saw everyone arguing over TA reviews and if they are just unfairly negative. I said as a result I read the TA reviews and, I quote myself here, they seemed to mostly be coming from business travelers.

And no I didn't address everyone's opinions on this thread. Because I was making one comment that I stated was limited to TA. I don't work for Disney, I don't need to address all of their complaints! But you keep :stir:

:wizard: We are planning a trip this summer and were hoping to stay at CSR for the first time. We read the reviews and take them with a grain of salt. I can say that while I'm not thrilled with the negative reviews about cleanliness at CSR, it's not a deal breaker for us. We have been coming to WDW for many years and the one thing we have always been able to count on is that if we aren't happy with our room, Disney does whatever they can to make us happy. Most of the time we've had rooms that were great, but I few times we had rooms that we simply wouldn't accept….we called the front desk and they worked with us to give us a more acceptable room, sometimes upgrading us to a better view or location…and I do believe that in the end, everyone has a different set of standards of what is acceptable. I appreciate being able to read about the different experiences people have had and then make my own decision…that's what makes the DIS boards so great!!!
