CSR is the only WDW resort we've stayed at over the last three years, most recently for 16 nights/17 days this past Nov/Dec. We switched resorts after a bad experience at CR in 2010. We always manage to persuade our way into Casitas 4, and have never had a bad experience with the room. Except for forgetting to put the "Do Not Disturb" on the door and being awakened by housekeeping at 8am.
You keep mentioning 8 years. I am talking about RECENT reviews on TA, and by some of the people on this forum. Not to many hotels at the rate Disney charges per night have such a low score for CS on TA. 67% is pretty low.
The post you keep quoting about the child having to go to the ER, that trip happened 8 years ago. 2006 according to the poster.
Also,I guess I don't understand why Trip Advisor is the be all end all.
If you check Orbitz CSR is given 4 stars. Travelocity gives it an 83% approval rating. Hotels.com has it as a 3.9 out of 5, and their breakdown gives it a 4.1 for cleanliness. But so many people are going OH TRIP ADVISOR DOESN'T LIKE IT, IT MUST BE AWFUL!! I don't know, but around here we all think of TA as the place people go to complain about their hotel stays. It is the last place I think of as having honest reviews.
As far as CSR having issues over time, every single Disney resort has had issues over time. Every single one. A couple years back it was pile on POR time. It runs in cycles.
I kind of hesitated to post this because this thread seems to be starting to get heated...but whatevsies. I went to TA to see what all this was about. Most of the bad reviews were things I am not concerned with. Many focused on it taking 10 minutes to walk anywhere, that café rix was busy in the morning, etc. A lot of them were business travelers so my guess was they are used to different style resorts when they take business trips. But all that seems standard for moderate resorts. I also saw the posted picture with the hair situation. It was 3 strands of women's hair. Would I be upset that no one cleaned it when I requested them to, sure. Would I request someone come to the room to clean that, nope.
You are doing exactly what you are complaining about. Thinking your opinion is correct and their opinions are wrong. Why are their reviews not as relevant and valid as your review?
I was there last year, in business class, and the room was spotless.
We get it. You had a great experience at CS, but that does not diminish the other reviewers bad experiences at this hotel. You are doing exactly what you are complaining about. Thinking your opinion is correct and their opinions are wrong. Why are their reviews not as relevant and valid as your review? People have posted on this thread alone with bad reviews. One had feces on their sheets at this hotel. The logic by some of this board is.....Clearly if something was wrong at this hotel then it has to be just a complainer wanting something for free , and not Disney's fault. How dare they!
Heck, someone was even arguing about who had more hotel/sales experience on this thread. I guess if someone doesn't have the exact amount of experience as the other then their opinion/review is wrong and not valid. Really?
Another misconception on this board is that the only people that post on these review sites are the ones with negative reviews and who like to complain. Nonsense. Why do you think that you get average rating scores in the 80-90%'s on this sites? All hotels would have a 1 star rating if that were true. It's because of the positive reviews not the negative ones.
You say people on here have an issue with TA and their reviews. I am willing to bet some people have an issue with the fairness and honesty of the reviews from certain members on DIS. It is blatantly biased by some.
One thing you have to remember is that many of the people on this board with over 20,000 posts are people that I have on my ignore list.
I AM NOT REFERRING TO MAXIESMOM THERE!!!! It's just that someones propensity to post a lot is not something I necessarily relate to accuracy; experience; or any reason I need to value what they post. ONCE AGAIN, I am NOT referring to maxiesmom here.
I have over 25 WDW trips under my belt. ALL on property, mostly deluxe with some moderates sprinkled in.
If anyone asks me for a review or recommendation I usually just say to pick one that you THINK you'll like based on price and theme. I don't put a lot of stock in reviews except I just like reading them for entertainment.
Having said all that, I believe any review site is just as good as any of the others. They are ALL peoples reviews.
Just because you like a resort and one review site doesn't agree with you doesn't mean you are right or the site is right.
Have you not read the reviews from the members of DIS on this thread?
Did you not read my post that you are quoting?
I specifically said I was referring to the reviews on trip advisor. Only on trip advisor. Because the last page or so of this thread has been an argument over TA reviews and if they are a good/fair source of information. I wanted to check out what they said specifically.
If I was applying an opinion to the dis reviews, I would not have started it out saying "I went to TA..."

I read your post correctly.....my point was why aren't you addressing the people on this forum that have had bad experiences? You feel that some of their issues aren't a "big" deal too?
