Coranado Springs $124

We stayed December 15-22, for most of the stay we were on the dining plan so we couldn't use our AP's to get a discount on the price of the rooms but we decided to extend our stay for one night without the plan and we were lucky enough to get an AP rate of 99 dollars a night:cool1: we stayed in Casita's 3. The resort is large and you can do a lot of walking but it is so beauitful that we did not mind at all.:thumbsup2

We were just there from 12-23 thru 1-2. I used the Disney Visa code that came out in Aug. After I deducted the price of the dining plan and park tickets, our rooms came out to about 120 per night.

We stayed at CSR in November 2005 with a 8, 5 and (almost) 1 year old. We loved it! We're going back in April and my now-9 year old only wants to stay there again! He said "it was just so cool walking around in the mornings". He means that "long" walk to Pepper Market and bus stops.

We found the bus service to be great - if it was longer than 10 minutes to Magic Kingdom I would be surprised. The buses were NEVER crowded - in fact, we were the only people on them sometimes! I think this may be because CS is a convention resort, and not all the rooms are booked by families heading to MK at 8:00am. Granted, this was also a quiet time of year, but I'm sure February isn't busy either.

Have a great time!

Coronado springs is a convention center, and since this is value season there are going to be a lot of conventions going on...

it won't be to bad durring the day, however at night, you could find some rowdy's around the pool/hottubs,,, since they are opened w/no lifeguard, and drinks flowing after an entire day being stuck inside....they may want to be trying to fill up the resort and move staff around from other resorts to make it worth while to have the resort opened along with all the other rest staff....

so when considering this resort remember that it is a convention center, and some of the food prices may be priced a little bit higher because of this,,,people get to expense everything when going to a convention,,,especially food.

When we went in August, we got AKL for $129 a night with code. :cool1: I believe CSR was $89.00 at that time. This was off-season so that's why they were cheaper. I'm not brave enough to deal with long lines during spring break and pay higher prices for less fun for me & family.

Hoping for a December 2007 code in the future as next trip is 12/9/07 to 12/14/07.

I just got my AP rate of $124/night at CS but have never been there. Is this a good deal? I am worried about the location. It seems like a pretty long bus ride to MK from there. Does anyone know how the busses are at CS?

My other options are CR for $384/night or AKL Savanna view for $292/night. That is a big jump but it may be worth it. Anyone have any suggestions?

We have only visited CSR and to us it seemed to have too much of a business-like atmosphere with all the conventioners standing around chatting and having drinks all around the pool and inside & outside the Pepper Mkt. and such. The food was a little more costly and it was just so-so. It just did not cut it for us. We did stay at POR and found it to be much more relaxing and beautifully landscaped. It was great to have so many quiet pools and a boat that takes you DTD. Food was really good here too.Boat & bike rentals also available. Bus transportation was also decent. POR would be my 1st choice for a mod.
You mentioned AKL...if you can afford the difference...DO IT ! It is a great resort. As I always mention, it's like getting 2 vacations in 1 !!! AKL is amazing! Waking up and watching the animals outside your room, sipping your coffee from on your balcony is truely awesome! And coming back from the parks is actually exciting! You can't wait to return to this resort. There's alot to see and do here for kids and adults alike. We ended up spending alot of extra time at AKL, we'd never want to leave. The pool is really great and the food was just wonderful here too! There is no guesswork as to whether or not the extra cost is worth it. Trust me, you will find this resort to be well worth the extra $$.
Good luck in your decision and have a great time! Cindi;)

Does anyone know when discount rates for CSR for August might come out? I have made a deposit through AAA ($150 savings for two people with 3 day park hopper and dining plan over Disney's price) but would love the be able to save even more!

My first visit to Disney we statyed at CSR and loved it. We had our room in the Ranchos section and it was great!
