Coral Reef lunch opinions ?

We're going to try CR for an early lunch in July. I always wanted to try this place but the bad reviews scared me a little.

Lunch seems like a good choice since they have a lot of salads - we're salad people Has anyone ever tried the lobster salad and if so how is it ? I'm expecting a lot of greens and a few bites of lobster here and there.

Did you have good service, did you wait for your table ? Our ADR is at 11.30.

I was just there in April for an 11:30 am ADR. That's the perfect time... you have a great shot at getting a seat next to the aquarium if you ask when you get there.

I ordered the lobster salad, too. It was very good, not a salad with lobster but a lobster salad. More like a chicken salad. It had just a touch of mayo to make the lobster stick together and it had a bit of celery, too. It is NOT a large lunch though so if you're starving, order something else. For me, it was perfect size because I don't eat much.

Oh I'm SO glad you told me about what the lobster salad really is. DM was going to get this and she's definitely not going to like it if it's some sort of sticky mix instead of little pieces of lobster on salad.

I just had the lobster salad a few weeks ago. Our server told me when I ordered it that it was not a large portion. She volunteered that information, I did not even ask. The soup that comes with it is served in a small ramekin that has no more than 3 soup spoons full of soup. The salad, as in the greens, are not a side salad etc. Its only the small greens that the lobster salad is put on top of. The lobster salad itself is very good but a small portion. Very fresh and very cold, very refreshing. Good on a hot summer day. It came with 2 pieces of toasted baguette, small pieces. I had to have a few pieces of the regular bread too just to feel full. We had the citrus creme brule too.
