Copper Creek Selling March 8

Oh I agree. The dues are high. My point was more along the lines of you can not compare dues straight up on a per point basis, you have to factor in how many points per night are needed. Boardwalk dues for 2017 6.47. the Grand Floridian is 5.90. Boardwalk seems a lot higher...but on the lowest season, a standard view studio at BW is 10 points, GF is 17, so really, the GF dues are higher, even though they are less per point.

Since copper creek does not have the room inflation that the newer resorts have (Poly, VGF) , the dues are not as bad as they seem at first (meaning they are not not a 10 on a badness scale, maybe just an 8, still bad)
I own at BCV and Poly.

With Poly, I paid full price plus the per night inflation but consoled myself that dues weren't bad to start and if they followed the BLT model, would stay down for a long while before they creeped up.

With VWL2, buyers are going to have to console themselves that point per night deflation offset price and MF inflation.

Three legs to the transaction and both Poly and VWL2 chose a different leg to "discount".

To me though, that means the best bang for your buck with VWL2 is to book that better points per night deal with SSR points.

And that's as opposed to Poly. Sure, booking Poly with SSR points is a pretty good deal, but you're still paying higher Poly point rates per night.

I would assume ADD ON's will not be $176 per point.....there will be a "DEAL".....but if the MF is really starting at over $7....that is quite high. Gonna wait to see how it all shakes out.....too much info to glean through first!

Per DVCNews:
"At launch, current DVC owners qualify for a $1000 discount off an add on of 150 points or more. The discount increases to $1750 for 175+ points and $3000 for 200 or more points. Higher incentives are available for larger purchases. "

Which lowers that 150 point contract to $169/point. still not low enough to be a viable alternative to BRV resale, where you get the same amenities as CCV... last night, I was all prepared to buy a small CCV add-on, but between the pictures and the MF, I think we'll wait or buy more resale. :)

That is how I feel as well

I wonder what these $7.33 maintenance fees forebode for BRV. I mean, obviously some non-zero part of their height is the cabins and the hot tubs and such.

But what of it is "shared amenities?" Because BRV will eventually get pasted for those too...

This whole project was a beef for for me with the dues for VWL. We did not see a reduction for not having many of the amenities for two years and now we'll get to pay portions of the new amenities. I wrote DVC about the dues during construction but with no response to that - just a so sorry you're not happy.

I don't think BRV will equal CCV though - the stand alone cabins are going to keep those higher IMO although I'd think that the quanitity of rooms in the main building would offset a bit.

Unless the main building also happens to be expensive to maintain?

The cabins have point costs greater than the lake view GVs at BLT and the GV's have point costs just under the Theme Park view GV's at BLT. Also, the cabins sleep 8, but four of those sleeping spaces appear to be in the living room (pull-out couch, sleeper chair and apparently a murphy bed). The master has the king but the second bedroom has only a queen and is too small for another bed (more like a Treehouse room).

The CCV declarations cite to a First Amendment to the Common Facilities Agreement. The Common Facilities Agreement is from the year 2,000 and concerns WL and VWL sharing common facility and area costs. The new First Amendment to that agreemnt makes clear that CCV and BRV are going to be sharing their facilities and common areas with both paying for their maintenance. Since CCV will be a shared resort with BRV and WL for the spreading of common facility and area costs, I wonder if the stated annual fees for CCV are telling us that BRV may be in for a big jump in 2018?

I know I'm going to figure this out the second I hit send, but, what is "BRV" please? It's not on the common abbreviations post and I'm coming up empty right now.

Wouldn't the mf be less if ccv had more overall points?

I mean wouldn't the mf actually be lower or higher compared to how many points there overall are available at CCV? So a high number of points would spread the total cost of the mf among more points and then make the cost per point lower. It would be the other way around with less points.

Boulder Ridge Villas AKA the renaming of the original Wilderness Lodge Villas

BRV is short for boulder ridge villas. BRV is the "new" name for wilderness lodge. Dvc changed the name last year.
