Coolest harness ever!

Not to start a harness debate, but I found one of these at Wal-Mart last night. It is so cute!

I use a harness at Disneyland for my ds (2.5) to keep him safe, and so I don't worry as much, but I'm always afraid it looks too much like a leash. This little monkey makes that so much better. Plus, it has a zipper pocket on the back and you can take the tether strap off (the tail) and use it as a backpack.

Btw, don't buy the one on ebay, it was only $10 at Wal-mart.

That is soooo cute! Though I do have to argue that the hands free tether is the best ever. Its belt to belt secured by rings, so theres no twisting or winding up and your hands are free for other things....

We have the monkey harness for our 19 month old. Works nicely and he loves the snuggly soft feeling of his monkey "hugging" him. And like you say it doesnt look so much like you are toting your toddler about like a dog on the leash!

BTW, I have also seen these in blue puppy dogs. If I could find one that looked like JO JO's lion from Jo's Jo's Circus Id be ecstatic. We sing little lion songs to him just like Jo Jo does.

JMHO, nothing is wrong with using a harness/leash on a mobile toddler/preschooler. Keeps them close and safe and lets them out of the stroller a bit to stretch and exercise those legs. Not to mention the sense of independence it instills to them to be moving and traveling under their own steam

Too bad we cant keep our tweeners and teens this close! Might save us all a few gray hairs!!!!!

Very cute! We used a regular harness on ds on our last trip. We did hear a few comments but they were all pretty positive. Honestly I really don't care what people think though. It kept ds close to us and I got the impression he liked knowing we were close by as well. Btw, he likes to run away - thinks it's a game - but with the harness on he doesn't even try. This next trip to DL I don't think we will need to use it, at least not as much, as he has gotten very good at holding our hands and listening to us. I'm bringing it, just in case, though!

I've had some positive comments as well. My ds also likes to play the run away game, and in a crowded place that is very scary. He's ok with holding hands sometimes, but a little arm stretching up for a long time will start to hurt. We probably don't "need" the harness most of the time, but it gives me peace of mind and he has a lot of fun wearing it. We also have a 12 week old dd, so whichever adult stays out with the kids for baby swap will be glad to have ds on a harness, I'm sure!

I was so glad to see this thread. I have alway had mixed feeling about the harness', cause they sometimes look like people are walking their dogs. My two boys always walked (hardly ever used strollers) and would stay with me. Then my daughter came along...........I don't know if its 3rd child or b/c she is my first girl!!!!!! She runs around like a mad woman!!!She really doesn't like to be in a stroller or carriage, and I am sure no one around me wants to listen to her wanking. So I thought when we go to Disney with her I might have to consider investing in some kind of harness.

That is adorable, but knowing my ds, the extra "stuff" on his back would bug him. Does anyone have a link to these belt to belt harnesses? I think one of those might be great for him.

I am so glad you posted this! I just saw someone using one of these at the zoo and I almost asked her where she got it. It was so cute! I will have to look at our Walmart for them. I know I could use one for Disney. Hope ours carries them! Were they back in the infant section?

I have a son with autism, will be 4 when we go to WDW. This would be great for him IF it will hold him. I could care less about people staring. Let them hang onto him for awhile! (By the way, before kids I did think they were terrible. Oh how silly I was then!)

I bought one of the monkeys for my DD and one doggie for my DS. They both loved them! I couldn't get DS(4yo) to take his off, he thought it was a game. I bought the last two from my Wal Mart and haven't seen any since. Glad I got the last ones . I always hated to see kids on a harness before I had kids, now I have a different view of the matter.

Same here b/f my DD!!! We are there December @ PC, just look for the DM tied up with the harness, because I am sure my DD will out smart me somehow!!!!!!!!

Sorry to drift off topic, but I had some really crazy ideas before DS came along and totally humbled me. I thought harnesses were awful, children should behave perfectly in restaurants, should have clean faces in public, etc. All sorts of ridiculous notions! Now with autistic DS's behavior even the folks with wild kids stare at us!

We just got back from DL on Sunday and while there saw a little girl wearing one of these. It was absolutely adorable! In talking to the father, she preferred to wear it with the monkey in front so it looked like she was hugging it. The father also commented that it was so much easier since it was so hot and she fussed everytime they wanted to hold her in large crowds. Truthfully, it didn't even look like a harness at first, just looked like she was hugging a stuffed animal. Very cute and inventive, IMO.

Yep, they were in the infant section of wal-mart. They have double buckles on the front, so I think they would hold just about any toddler. The tail can be switched to the front or the back if the child prefers to wear the animal in the front. Ds won't take his off either!

Thank you! This is perfect for dd18months (who's (very appropriate) nickname is monkey)! I called my mil who is out shopping today and asked if she was going to Walmart and they were just driving up to one! They had one left and it was the monkey and she got it for me.

I never needed one of these with the older two but this one....well, I did say her nickname was monkey!

Then I googled, no luck, and even tried Goldbug products( I could tell by the photo on E-Bay) the company.Thought it would be easier to order on-line rather than drive the 30-40mins ( and the gas I would waste in my Expedition!) to Wal-Mart and have them say they have never heard of it. Maybe I'll give them a call.
