Cookie Question

If I plan to give out cookies to my neighbors on Tuesday, would Saturday be too early to make them?

What kind are they? I'd probably freeze them, just so that they'll be able to save them covered on the counter for about a week without the cookies going stale. If it's going to be just a few cookies accompanied by something else and they'll probably eat them right away, just keeping them in an airtight container would probably be okay.
