I remember that and was trying to remember the name of the guy. Weren't those people dialing at 5am or something. (maybe he had CA people calling too so it would be 8am). 1999-2000 time period maybe or a little after?Oh I definitely remember all those topics but I remember the Cinderella breakfast ones getting the most heated. Do you remember the poster, I think it was Howies Angels (not sure if it was Howie but definitely ended with Angels). He used to get a bunch of those reservations for people.

I keep very current on Canadian politics and am somewhat active locally. I see it as an important part of civic duty to at least be informed, if not actively involved. It really, really bugs me when Canadians rant all day long about American politics but can't even name their own MP (Member of Parliament). How about Canadian politics? But then I can't imagine your politics compare to the low levels that we sadly have found ourselves here in the US.
I was here under another name (can't remember probably something like Dab). I was in a private group at the time with JaneEllen (don't know if others know her JE118? I think it was), Judy from Plano and Baltimore and Debbie from texas. Good and bad times there. It hit its peak in the 2000-2004ish period.
You aren't if you can see the threads by visiting the sub-forum you have been approved. How is one notified about acceptance? I haven’t yet requested to join but I see that username and e-mail are required.
Yeah this thread confused me as I never asked to approved, and was never told I was approved. I discovered the subforum and was able to read and post to it.You aren't if you can see the threads by visiting the sub-forum you have been approved.
The only post from you in the "Controversial Forum" is from January 14. That's before the Forum was open. It's in a thread that started in the Community Board and was moved.Yeah this thread confused me as I never asked to approved, and was never told I was approved. So why is your inside out laundry thread there? The only post from you in the "Controversial Forum" is from January 14. That's before the Forum was open. It's in a thread that started in the Community Board and was moved.
So I'm not sure where you posted.
ETA: This thread is NOT part of the "Controversial Forum". It's just part of the CB that anyone can post to.
It’s not. I see it in the “normal” community board. So why is your inside out laundry thread there?
I'm not notifying people, but if you submit a request and everything lines up, you'll be approved within 12 hours. How is one notified about acceptance? I haven’t yet requested to join but I see that username and e-mail are required.
But this does flag a question for @WebmasterCorey. If someone posts in a thread that gets moved (didn't start it, just posted in it) and they haven't opted into the controversial board, can they still see that thread? Would they then be able to see the other threads in that board? It's not. That's the normal Community Board. View attachment 829202
In red is the "Controversial Topics" sub board. In yellow is my "Laundry Debate" in the "normal" Community Board.
Just a guess, but I think they'll get notified that it's moved (as will anyone following the thread) to the new board. He answered that question for me yesterday(?). But, I would think, in order for them to follow the thread after the move, they'd need to join the board. But this does flag a question for @WebmasterCorey. No. I'm still working on a plan to move threads. The OP will always get notified, along with anyone following the thread. I am not grandfathering anyone into the new forum, including the Moderators. If you want access, then you must opt-in.But this does flag a question for @WebmasterCorey. So is TVguy just wrong in saying that he could view and post without having opted in?No. I'm still working on a plan to move threads. Yes, if you look at his screen shots in the laundry thread, he doesn't have access to the new board. He's just confused by the layout. So is TVguy just wrong in saying that he could view and post without having opted in?
Correct, because the Laundry thread is on the Community board, not the new Private Controversial sub. Anyone can post on that thread, and that's not the type of topic you'll see.So is TVguy just wrong in saying that he could view and post without having opted in?
