DH and I are planning a trip in November to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We were married at Disney and honeymooned at the CR on the 14th floor. I thought I had read that your can't reserve that floor and wanted to see if anyone knew anything about that. Also, what is the difference between 12th and 14th floor and can you request a MK view. I know our wedding coordinator upgraded us for our honeymoon so I'm not sure how it all works.
Thanks!

yes you can reserve the 14th floor, but you are reseving the FULL concerige service. Rather pricey, but if affordable go for it. Also you can reserve the suites on the 14th floor, they too are available for use. ;)

The difference between the 12th semi or "club" floor is that the concerige is only offered for breakfast and snacks for lunch, the concerige is available 8am till 4pm. Where as you had the full service on the 14th floor. What a great upgrade! Rather un heard of. :D :D :D !!! 14 is usually something most of us can only image maybe you could describe the set up or layout of the floor for us!

MKY :D

Sure MKY, though it was 5 years ago and several WDW trips have occured since.
We checked in the day before our wedding and had to wait until about 6pm for our room (which could also have played a role in the upgrade?). We had the special key for the elevator and once we got off the concerige was sitting there waiting to greet us. She took us to our room, showed us around and gave us the run down on things. We had a stocked mini bar and a good size room. I did see into a suite one morning and that was HUGE!
Each day we would go to the lounge and they would have breakfast (cont), lunch (mini sandwiches), dinner (various little things) but best of all snacks! Chocolate covered strawberries, pasteries, yum, yum, yum. I think they had wine and beer too! We would sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks each night. The morning of our wedding I was sitting out there with my Maid of Honor just taking everything in and thinking life doesn't get any better than this!
I have also stayed conceriege at the Poly, but I prefer the 14th floor at the CR.

I'm staying in a 1 bdrm suite in 15 days on the 14th floor with a guaranteed MK view. Glad to hear it was great - it is costing a fortune. I will report back on how it is.

15 MORE DAYS TO GO!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

We were recently upgraded to the 12th floor, MK view. We had requested a MK view in our original Tower room reservation. You're right... the view was spectacular, especially for fireworks.

The concierge was there when we needed her.... breakfast and in the afternoon when we brought DD back for a nap or got ready for dinner.

The continental brkfst was very good... tasty, nice selection and fast. Afternoon snacks were great too.... nice treats to bring to the park for DD.

Bellcap said the rooms were the largest of all Disney hotels. As a first time visitor, all I can say is that the other hotels' rooms must be incredibly small. Our 12th floor room wasn't what I would call spacious for a hotel room, although it was comfortable.

Hope that helps and congrats on 5 years!

ccgegg, if you don't think the Contemp rooms are large, don't ever stay at the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge! They are listed as deluxe, but the rooms are tiny compared to The CR or Polynesian. :)

Don't get me wrong, the room was nice. But when the bellcap said that, I was pretty surprised. Maybe it didn't seem large because there was so much furniture in there, and the bathroom was pretty big. Either that or my expectations were too high when they said we were being upgraded. That usually means a bigger room, but I don't think that's the case at the Contemporary.... 12th floor room size appears to be the same as the other Tower floors.
