How far back did you make your ressies? I have been trying since July to get a Tower MK view at the Cont. and every date I have plugged in from Oct. -Feb is booked! We are just going to stay at the BC again. It's a great resort, but we wanted the access to MK - we will be there in Jan. I wonder if the contstruction is why it is so booked?

By the time you stay there the construction on the inside should be on hold at least until April 2008. According to the renovation schedule the lobby renovation should be finished and a Cast Member working at the Sundries store told me the new store in the middle of the 4th floor is set to open the 1st week of December.I just recently booked the CR Tower MK View room for December 19-21 and got a AAA discount, and it seems to be better than the AP rate, actually about $23 less than the AP rate for the same nights. I am really looking forward to staying at the CR for the first time, especially with a view like that.
I'm not worried about noise, because they won't be working when I am sleeping. But, I have almost always been able to sleep through anything.

Unless you are staying on the 14th floor because you don't look down on the 4th floor and because it's all enclosed, you still hear the construction noise from floors 5-12. Last month my parents and I were staying on the 12th floor and hear all the noise, so it makes no difference. My husband and I stayed at the CR Sept.9-15! We stayed on the seventh floor (MK view). It was pretty noisy inside of the resort. They were putting down tile and working on the new store on the 4th floor. If I stayed there, I would want to be higher than the seventh floor. We love the CR and have stayed there twice. If I had to choose, I would not return until construction was completely over.
Won't they still be working on the restaurant shuffle, though? I mean, I'd be thrilled if they weren't working indoors while I'm there in January, but it seems like once they've started the disruption, it would make sense to just keep going.By the time you stay there the construction on the inside should be on hold at least until April 2008. The Concourse Steakhouse is not set to close until April 2008 and the area in the lobby where the Food & Fun Center use to be is now a huge wall that covers it up, so you won't be able to see them turning that location into the Waive. Besides that nothing is being done to the California Grill and Chef Mickey's. Finally if you have not seen the pictures on Allearsnet the temporary grab & go location is now open on the 4th floor.Won't they still be working on the restaurant shuffle, though? April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.
Since your going in January by then the construction should be on hold for a while. By then the lobby should be completed and the new store on the 4th floor should open 1 month before. I was also told by a friend of mine where the Food & Fun Center use to be is a huge wall covering it up, so you can't see them working behind there turning it into the Waive. Finally the Concourse Steakhouse is set to close in April 2008, so until then I don't see any construction going on inside on the 4th floor until it closes. Since you said that your staying in a Magic Kingdom view here is what you have to look foward to, so don't worry about anything else.
And exactly WHY would construction be "on hold for a while"??? This is Florida, not Canada. We build all year long here.

That's exacxtly what I was trying to say, so thank you for seeing it the way I do. I am just going by the Contemporary renovation schedule and what I was told when it comes to the opening of the new store, so it's not hard to figure out how things should be going when it comes to a time line of renovations.Once the new store opens in Dec on the 4th floor, the only indoor construction left is down on the first floor, behind the walled off area and maybe some futher check-in desk refurb. Once Concourse Steakhouse closes in April, the indoor construction (that people will be able to hear from their rooms) will pick up again. I don't think CRfan intended to imply that construction would stop due to weather, its just that the current projects affecting guests will be finished
