Contemporary Resort construction..tower MK view in Jan 08?

Disney Mommy 3, did you try January 5-12? I booked two Tower MK rooms for those dates a few weeks ago and have been checking every few days to see if there's a rate drop. The Tower MK view has been consistently available. It's showing rack rate, but I got the AAA discount. Maybe it's coming up empty for you because you're specifying an unavailable discount (like AP rate)? :confused3

We are going on the 26th through the 3rd- and I have plugged in other dates and the only thing that did come up at all was a Garden Suite- same when I called. At $9000. that just isn't going to work for us!! I am not specifying any discount. Just trying to see what's available. We are booked at the BC and that's great-but the CR is always first choice- I will just keep on trying till it's time to go!!

I have even checked on splitting out stay-first half at BC and second half at CR-even then it's showing no availability.

Once the new store opens in Dec on the 4th floor, the only indoor construction left is down on the first floor, behind the walled off area and maybe some futher check-in desk refurb. Once Concourse Steakhouse closes in April, the indoor construction (that people will be able to hear from their rooms) will pick up again. I don't think CRfan intended to imply that construction would stop due to weather, its just that the current projects affecting guests will be finished

I wonder if they'll be able to keep to their original schedule as Food & Fun did not close until mid-Sept., not July 30. They're at least six weeks behind so I would not be surprised if the opening of the The Wave is moved forward from April 2008. The new store was scheduled to open in August but the construction on it just started so they are definitely behind schedule.

Last month when I was there a huge Gospel singing group had checked in and there were a lot of them, because I found out they were also staying at Corondao Springs and either the Swan or Dolphin, however I forgot which one. Anyway during their days there the hours for the grill at the Food & Fun Center were extended to 12:00 AM. For a long time the grill was open from 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM, however for that short period of time it was open from 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM. My guess is with a huge group of guests checking in they thought it would be a good idea to keep the Food & Fun Center open, longer then they had expected.

I also think they can get the Waive open on time because it will not open until the Concourse Steakhouse closes, which is set for April 2008. Even if the Food & Fun Center closed on July 30th like everyone and including myself was expecting, the Concourse Steakhouse 1st needs to close so they can open the Waive.

As for the store not being finished hopefully until the 1st week of December, I don't see it as a big deal because either way guests staying in the Tower were going to hear the noise of them working on building it.
