Contemporary Closing for Refurb?

I've searched, but I can't find more information. I heard on a podcast that the CR is closing from April to September (2021) for refurb, but it hasn't been officially announced yet. It is only the tower rooms that are closing, so does that mean that restaurants will still be open? We have a stay at BLT in Aug, and we all know there is no dining available - other than the pool bar at BLT. Has anyone heard anything?

What I have seen specifically stated that CR will NOT close, just some rooms would be renovated, presumably in blocks of rooms at a time. This is how it typically works for resorts, it is normally rare for a resort to close for renovation.

"The Bay Cove Pool water play area at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is scheduled for refurbishment and will be temporarily unavailable from January 6, 2021 through early February 2021. During this time, Guests may enjoy the pool at Bay Lake Tower, as well as the feature pool, leisure pool and interactive water feature at Disney's Contemporary Resort."

Sounds like it is for the kids spray pad area. It is located behind the pool to the left, when looking out to Bay Lake. It sounds like the pool will still be open.

Thanks for sharing... that area would be awesome to have open for my 22 mo old but we can do the pool without too. Would love if they put in an actual structure play area like at other locations!!

Sources are saying Contemporary refurb is April-September. Tower lake view & theme park view rooms. Garden wing rooms are still available to book. All dining and amenities are still going to be available.

Although not confirmed yet, I believe it will have an Incredibles theme after the refurb.

We're planning our first trip to BLT this summer, so I'm glad to hear the restaurants and amenities will still be available. It's interesting that Polynesian and Contemporary are having Disney IP added to them. It didn't seem there was a big desire in the community for change.
