Would get the 110 points, the $8 per point credit and 100 developer's points.

Offer ends February 18.

What do you think? I'm not asking you to think for me, just your impressions. I own 150 points there now. DW told me just not to tell her and tell her to shut her eyes when she signs the papers. Not really a glowing endorsement.

I say if you're wife isn't thrilled, then I'd think about holding off. I know its really tempting to jump on deals right before they end, heck I've been guilty of it, but I think there will be more incentives at AKV in the future. Maybe, not of the kind they're advertising now, but that MAY be a good thing. In my personal opinion, developer points are more of a hassle than an incentive. It was a huge pain to get my reservation, make a slight change, and then finally get the confirmation.

You're wife will probably be completely on board later on and then you can both jump in feet first. Hopefully, by that time, the incentive will be even better ;)

I went back and forth with buying 200 or 225 points last August. I finally ended up with 200 (after talking with other friends who have kids the same age and also buying). My friend's perspective was you can always add on, and do you REALLY NEED that many points. I wish I had just gotten the 225, because I am already thinking about adding on and haven't even made my first trip yet! DH basically did the same thing: Just tell me where to sign, and don't tell me what it is costing! Since I pay for it out of my paycheck, and it doesn't impact our family budget I should have listened to myself. I say if you can afford it, and you know you will use the points, then go for it! Don't worry about your DW closing her eyes when she signs the dotted line! Sometimes it is better if they don't know!

We just called and added on today. The incentives are good and a price increase is coming March 5th.

How much is the price increase on Mar 5th?

WildernessDad... If you can afford to do it without hurting the family budget, then that is the resort I would do it at also. I own 150 pts there too. I have been thinking I need a few more, but I am at my limit right now. When I paid my dues this year, I almost had a fainting spell.:rotfl: This was the first year of having this many points all due at one time. I still haven't told my husband how much it all was. :sad2:

WDad...if you think you'll use the points, and it fits into the family finances, then why not? I've read you describe the wonderful family visits you've enjoyed at WDW, and if you can do some more or upgrade your accommodations more often, then I'd say go for it!

Really? If it were my DW, I'd consider that to be a wonderful endorsement! It would mean she is trusting entirely to my judgement...which is a pretty trusting and great thing. :thumbsup2

AKV would be my choice too given your situation. Good luck!

last year they offered double developer points for a min. of 100 pt. add on. Maybe they will offer that again, but you never know.

Tom's DW here.. if I said that to DH, it wouldn't have necessarily meant "Don't." :rotfl:

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. We tend to alternate just who is the force behind each add on. We began our buy in with 200, added 50 right away, and now we have 855!

Just called my guide to ask a few questions about the add on and he's out yesterday and today. Was going to make the decision today.

Would like to do it as a 50 + 60 add on if it is possible to still get the incentives. Found a use for those 100 dastardly developer's points as well. So it would be a nice fit, I think.

I can fit it in financially.

I am now reminded of one big reason that I purchased AKV. I am currently babysitting my granddaughter. She was just playing with the Animal Kingdom Lodge note pad. She's going to get at least my initial purchase in AKV. She was born the same year AKV was born, 2007. Ahh to be young again....

Hope your guide gets back to you Monday. Our guide called today around noon, and by early evening our new points were in our account, online.

I decided that I am on this darn fence with the add-on. I called my guide to add it on and called again to cancel. I need to speak with him today if at all possible.

After talking with my guide, who is great btw, it looks like I will be letting this recent promotion pass.

I'd have trouble using the developer's points and trouble using the extra points at this time.

So I will wait as I planned on waiting and will hopefully get in down the road, once Kidani starts selling. Hopefully, I'll have a year or two to wait.
