Conservative thread: We're still smiling!

Okay, I'm watching President Bush's last press conference - he is being very gracious considering what the press has put him through. He even made fun of his speaking skills and nobody laughed. I got it though. ;)

me too. he's a good guy. i liked watching the father and son interview too. and the laura interview a couple of weeks ago. i just like those people and want to go live in crawford with them.

I have a list of things to do that's a mile long - I still haven't taken down the Christmas decorations yet. Got to get going on that - it's January 12th already!

i did my laundry over the weekend and folded it, but never managed to take it upstairs to put it away. so this morning i was getting ready for work and realized, "oh. hmmm. guess i have to get dressed in the laundry room today."

christmas trees: i have promised myself to take down last year's displays which are upstairs (still). i didn't put up the three big trees this year 'cause i was already pretty much decorated from last year and christmas was at my father's house.

Mine aren't down either. I totally meant to do it on Sundays in January, but then my Eagles have to go and win and I'm totally incapable of doing anything else. :rolleyes1

Besides, my Christmas tree makes me happy :lovestruc

you guys could always just change the ornaments...presidents' day is coming up, valentine's day, easter, memorial day, independence day (ours), etc.

Soarin, are you taking a course at your school and then going to do the CP? Or is this the end of a course? I'm confused :confused3
This is my Honors class- it's partially online so it's just another one I'm taking.

That would work!:thumbsup2

My brother last year had his tree up until he had to move out of the dorm. On the Yuletide tour he got the award for having his tree up the longest....

It was funny, actually. They kept trying to shoot her down, but she simply stayed on topic-cited her statistics and of course, they had nothing to counter them with but snarkiness. The statistics she cited were from a PROGRESSIVE organization. :lmao:

i always watch the view when i work from home, merely to see how many times joy can sneer at what elizabeth says and demonstrate her "i hate you" body language.

I was thinking the same thing! :lmao: My luck I'd have gotten Clinton.....

Honestly, I would have been fine with him. It'd be the constant talk and reference to the impending inauguration next week currently going on in the classes that would make me  Maybe had I paid more attention to politics when Clinton was in office I'd have more problems with him but I didn't begin to pay any attention to anything until this election.

I've been over defending sororities, sorry :guilty:

That's alright. I haven't been anywhere else on the CB today so I have no idea what today's dramas are.

I've never really watched The View so I have no idea how Elizabeth comes across on there but I really liked her from her Survivor days. To make it to the top 3 on that show; to be so well like and respected by her teammates that the only reason she was finally voted off is b/c they knew they'd lose if they were the one up against her for the final vote - you know that she's a good person. But, seriously, they need at least one more Conservative on The View. It really isn't fair to have two very outspoken (Joy and Whoopi -- and formerly Rosie) on there bullying her all the time.

Hey guys, just dropping in with a quick vent.

I went back to school today and it turns out that my balence is twice what I thought it would be. I have to pay $4000 instead of $2000.

Anyway, this means I have to take out another loan, this one being about $2000. I'll contribute another $500, but my poor parents still have to take up the rest. I now have $11000 in debt which I plan on paying off by working like a madman while living at home. After that I'll go to grad school. Still, it is a really stressful day, expecially when my family is struggling so much. I know everyone is struggling nowadays, so I know I'm not alone, but I still feel like it adds an extra layer of stress onto my senior year. The good news is that I won't have to deal with friggin' PBA after this year.

So yeah, everyone's prayers would be appreciated. I was hping to move to Tennessee to go to school, but I will probably end up staying in FL. Either that or I will move up in Jan and wait another semester. Right now I'm just a little terrified about the future and how I'm going to survive with the debt, even if I do pay most of it off. Anyway, that's all. See you guys later, I'm off to class.

you're doing a great thing going to school. can't really put a price on it. perhaps the new president will excuse those loans for you.

in the mean time, i have found ebay to be a remarkably efficient way to pile up some cash, a little bit at a time. at the very least, it can provide pocket money when there might not be any otherwise. one month, many moons ago, i paid all my utility bills with ebay money, just by selling some junk...maybe it was "junque", but either way, i cleared out some stuff from my parents' house and my own. right now ebay is great for people who need stuff but haven't a ton of money to pay.

(my favorite, but not most lucrative experience, was when i decided to hate my "barbara on broadway" cd. it could be purchased new for about $16, but these two people were crazy enough to start a bidding war, and it sold for over $30...go figure.)

you go get 'em girl!!!

I was thinking the same thing! :lmao: My luck I'd have gotten Clinton.....

I spoke up and told our instructor that I wanted Reagan... she said fine.:rolleyes1 Otherwise, I was going to get assigned Millard Fillmore. WTH?? Like I really want to research the inaugural address of some guy named Millard....:lmao:

Clinton would've been fine with me.:thumbsup2

I am about to starve. I need food!! Oh, Breezy?????popcorn::

My friend left her artificial tree up so long that Valentine's Day came around and she just redecorated it! Now it's a permanent fixture and she decorates it for holidays, birthdays, etc.

I've been on the "lied to again" thread...

elizabeth can sound really shrill, but she's the only con. i'd keep whoopi, 'cause she has a more reasonable perspective on things, lib or not. joy and that fidiot sherri are just blind, beligerent fools. and it's barb's show, so i guess she's gonna stay.

I've been reading that thread but decided it would be best to keep my thoughts out of it....:) I haven't been flamed in nearly a month so I plan on keeping it that way.:thumbsup2

Wow, I'm behind! You guys just talk and talk and talk.
I won't be around much today after 2 pm PST as we're moving our bedroom from one room to another. We're all switching rooms around.
This house has 3 bds and an extra room that was supposed to be a garage but was never converted. So here's how it's going to go:
Our current bd will be moved to extra room.
Boarder's bd will be moving into the bd we're in now.
Office/nursery will become storage room.
Boarders bd he's in now will become new office. Whew!

As for Disney decorations, I won't do subtle. Mine are going to be so obvious you'd think I live at DL. :rotfl:

Here ya go Soarin'. :goodvibes
