Conservative thread: We're still smiling!

I would LOVE to read this. How would you do this project? Through surveys? It sounds like a statistical thing.

Would you use only people in your college or would you promote the study elsewhere?

(I'm not kidding - I would love to read this and if you need a proofreader, let me know. I'll dust off the ol' English and History degree just for you).

I would most likely use high school students or folks in a public college. My college leans Republican, so I might not get an accurate sample. Then again, if I do both PBA and another public college, that would balance out.

I am hoping to do a statistical thing, because that's what I need to make for my assessment class.

I'm in a public college.....:rolleyes1 FYI. We're fairly moderate, I'd say- not exactly conservative but far from liberal.

I feel a headache coming on...:headache:

Hey! How's everyone doing, today? I go back to school tomorrow. I'm dreading it, though. I really need to learn how to manage my time better, especially since my time is so limited, especially with having three kids. I'm taking 4 classes and a lab. If any of you all have tips, I could definitely use them ;) .

Ann Coulter is slapping down the "ladies" on the View.

Normally, I would not condone such violence, but I wish Coulter would just haul off and sock Joy Beher right in the mouth. I would buy pay-per-view to see that.popcorn::
Oh, I cannot stand Joy! I wonder if they replay that episode anywhere. I'll only watch because I'd like to see Anne really give it to them.

Hey guys, just dropping in with a quick vent.

I went back to school today and it turns out that my balence is twice what I thought it would be. I have to pay $4000 instead of $2000.

Anyway, this means I have to take out another loan, this one being about $2000. I'll contribute another $500, but my poor parents still have to take up the rest. I now have $11000 in debt which I plan on paying off by working like a madman while living at home. After that I'll go to grad school. Still, it is a really stressful day, expecially when my family is struggling so much. I know everyone is struggling nowadays, so I know I'm not alone, but I still feel like it adds an extra layer of stress onto my senior year. The good news is that I won't have to deal with friggin' PBA after this year.

So yeah, everyone's prayers would be appreciated. I was hping to move to Tennessee to go to school, but I will probably end up staying in FL. Either that or I will move up in Jan and wait another semester. Right now I'm just a little terrified about the future and how I'm going to survive with the debt, even if I do pay most of it off. Anyway, that's all. See you guys later, I'm off to class.

I understand  I had to take out loans last fall.

My first semester sophomore year I was taking over a full class load, working about 25-30 hours/wk (plus 30 min drive each way) and I was "pledging" or "going through the new member process" for my sorority. It was hell. But my grades didn't drop and I did manage to have some fun :woohoo: Best advice I can offer is when you need to do school work, just get out of the house. Don't try to do it while cooking, or doing laundry, etc. I found that if I escaped and went to the library or even just downstairs in the dorm (i.e. close the door in the house) for an hour I was 3x as productive. Then I actually had free time later. So as tempting as it is to multi-task, just don't!

That would be an interesting thread for either side. How many of us have been in a situation where we felt like the outsider within our own group. I know that I have.

So far I haven't had the chance to feel that way. I'm sure it's coming though....

I've felt like that before (not here though! :) ). It's not a great feeling.

Oh, I forgot my manners....HI CONS!!! :wave2:

Just another crazy Monday here in not so sunny FL. Nothing too exciting. Saw some threads I needed to jump into (really, I needed to! Or maybe they needed me, I'm not sure which!), so that was fun! :thumbsup2

Thank you :goodvibes . I really appreciate that. I'm sure that dh wouldn't mind watching the kiddos for a couple of hours, so that I can head to the library. At least, I hope he won't mind.

I know! I went from HS where I was normally the lone dissenting voice on the conservative side, to college where I was the lone dissenting voice on the liberal side and I was just like wait a minute...what's wrong with this picture. But I went to a very conservative school. While we agreed on economic issues for the most part, it was the social issues. I found that I was much more likely to be accepting of others and the people I was discussing things with couldn't even see the other side. It was very interesting to say the least.

Of course :goodvibes

I wish we had a supercenter around here. The closest one is 24 miles round trip.

wal mart is my friend. we don't have a super center either, but i sure would like one. i can just imagine all the time i'd save.

you know that funny blip you get in your tummy when you see your name in writing? like when somebody's mom is screaming at their kid in the store and it is also your name? well..for a second, i thought i was gonna have to go punch joy behar (not a bad idea i guess....)

We have a super center here in my college town- and TWO back in my hometown. Target refuses to put in a store where I live so I have to drive thirty minutes to go to one.:headache:

I've been meaning to show you guys this for like forever- this is my MySpace background (no one can see my actual profile, it's on private)-
