Soarin- Have a great time! We'll miss you.

I get unlimited internet access on my cell phone so you guys will still hear from me while I'm on vacation.... I at least have to read, because y'all will have a new thread by the time I get back!:rotfl2:

And then how am I supposed to get the book out of my stuff??:rotfl: My suitcase is going on TOP of the car in one of those luggage things (you know, that you can stow all your vacation crap in).

Are you going to WDW any time soon?? I'm trying to see if I can meet all you cons while I'm doing the college program next year.:goodvibes

hmmmm...you should definitely ride on top of the car with your luggage.

i think i've successfully solved the problem for you now. :teeth:

i'm hoping to go again in april, but my work may prevent that. if not april, it won't be until winter that i can go. i went twice last year to wdw and twice to disneyland, so i shouldn't pout. and yet.....

No no no. It's my crazy brother that never shuts up that shall be retired to the luggage rack. Not me. :teeth:

:sad1: I would really love for all of you guys to be able to make it down between 1/21-8/7 next year. I know that doesn't always happen and work and other things get in the way, but I just wish I could meet all of you in person. You've all become my family.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

well i promise to track you down if my plans to go for the flower and garden festival aren't thwarted.

(be sure your brother has some good reading material for his ride in the luggage rack :thumbsup2 )

:thumbsup2 I love the flower festival. Definitely one of my very favorite times to be at WDW.

No way is my brother getting MY reading material!!!:rotfl: Though he needs to be taught at a young age how to be a proper conservative.....:rolleyes1 Otherwise he might cross over to the dark side....

That'll work! :thumbsup2 You'll have to update us on how your trip is going. You're going to have so much fun. I've never been at Christmas time. Are you planning on going to the Candlelight Processional?

:rotfl2:

That's what I might as well do on some of my WDW vacations. I buy too much stuff, to the point where there's barely enough room for me! The ride back this year was not pleasant. Good thing I didn't buy the monorail set like I wanted to. I would've been walking back to Virginia! :lmao:

On that note, night all. TY again for the prayers and well wishes.

:thumbsup2 We got the CP dining package. We'll be eating at Garden Grill then doing CP Christmas night.:goodvibes

well, since you'll be IN the car reading and your brother will be on the luggage rack, may i suggest two cans connected with a string? you can read the book aloud to him. he'll get a fine education on the way.

And I'm supposed to get his can up to him how?? Cut a hole in the roof of the car??:lmao:

Debbie, your quilts are absolutely gorgeous!!! I really love the diaper bag. I am not a quilter AT ALL, but my mother is. Here is the one and only quilt I have ever made. I got the idea from my cousin. It is made of old blue jeans. She has boys and she made a couple of large ones (this one is a large throw size, or a small twin size) of these for them years ago. They kept them in the truck, and used them for sitting on or covering up with at baseball and football games. She told me she loved them because grass shakes right off, dirt hardly shows, and they are practically indestructible. Plus of course you can throw them in the washer and dryer with no special care. There's no quilting stuff (batting???) between the layers. You just make two sides and sew them together, then sew ties here and there between both layers to hold them together. I made this one for my oldest, and she left it here when she moved out. The younger two fight over it all the time. I need to make them each one...but this was hard for me. :lmao: I have been saving up the holey jeans though, with the idea in mind that one day I'll do it...

And here are the snow pictures I promised. Our snow Santa:

And these two I took just to be artistic or something. :lmao: Roses and raspberries:

Now we're inside all warm and dry, and I'm having a cup of coffee and watching the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas with my daughter. Good day!

What a great idea about the jeans quilt - I've also known people to do that with old Tshirts....and the kind of quilts you use and abuse are the best kind IMHO...beautiful pictures - the snowy rose and raspberry are quite artistic and that is a lot of snow!

am i the only person who purchases things like to/from tags and wrapping tissue at the after christmas sale, then can't find it when it is time to wrap?

update: HERE they are...hid them in a gift box so they wouldn't get squooshed.

:lmao: I do the same thing - I love those great Christmas sales in February - I do have a very organized friend who will remind me where I have put my seasonal items [in the den closet, more than likely] but, if it weren't for her...

I just like to pretend books 6 & 7 never happened. I hate Hermione and Ron together, and don't get me started on my disdain for Ginny Sue, er, I mean Ginny. I wanted Harry and Hermione to get together, or even Hermione and Krum. But no, the smart girl always gets stuck with the immature, rude dolt.

SD, what's Heaven and Earth? I do try to support businesses that support my beliefs, although with the bigger ones, that is difficult. We have a coffee company here in Memphis called Ugly Mug - it's owned by Christians but, more than that, they work on the free trade principle and have sought to build up the lives of their coffee growers- a cool group of folks...also nice that they're local...

But about HP -- you don't like Ginny, SD? I  her but, then again, I also  Ron - I liked JK's pairings - wondered if Neville would end up with Luna...and I never thought anyone would be good enough for Hermione - she's my shero, what a woman!

I have a lot of DVDs but of course I've seen them all. I'm contemplating pulling out some Shakespeare (a la Kenneth Brannaugh) though. Whadya think...Much Ado about Nothing, or Henry V...Hamlet seems too depressing when I'm already cabin crazy...DEFINITELY not Othello.

It's always time for some Much Ado -- I  Kenneth Brannaugh [albeit, I'm still a little sad that he and Emma broke up oh so long ago]

Everyone who's so inclined, please pray hard for my family member tonight and tomorrow. The biopsies are tomorrow. Please pray first and foremost that she's okay, but also that the testing will be done correctly with no problems, is as painless as possible, and that it will be accurate. Please pray for me too. I'm very scared.

 Prayers said....

Thanks!! I won't be here this time tomorrow! I'll be on my way!

Woo-hoo for you!!! But what will we do without you? Glad you'll keep in touch via phone at least....

Me, too about the family :grouphug:

So I'll be getting to WDW right after you start the CP - cool!

I'm wearing my new Pluto sweatshirt now, in anticipation of my trip which begins a month from tomorrow!

Soarin - please post some pics!

And I'm supposed to get his can up to him how?? Cut a hole in the roof of the car??:lmao:

well, you could just go through the window. when you close the window ('cause it'll be cold!), it'll allow you to hang the "phone" when you take a break. nice and secure.

Me, too Robin - I do love GB but, when he begins to compare our economic future to that of Argentina or Zimbabwe...:scared1: ...I have to step back a little...
That's usually when I'm sitting there :lmao: with a  look on my face!

Well if anyone has text messaging enabled on their phone feel free to PM me and I'll give you my number and text trip updates to you.:goodvibes I'll be posting plenty of pics, trust me!!!

Ok. Well let me go hunt down some cans right now!!!:rotfl2:

Feel free to hurt me.... I stopped by the lib thread to wish them a Merry Christmas and all the other holidays they celebrate. I don't always agree with them but only a few have ever really attacked me in any way.... so perhaps my post there was the right thing to do with Christmas the day after tomorrow.

And since you all have ABANDONED me.... I'm going to bed. G'night!!!!!!!

:grouphug:

Well........ :surfweb: I should be packing but would rather just not fool with that right now.... plus I'm so shocked at myself, I have actually left Glenn's first book that I bought today (The Real America) stay safely out of my reach buried under all the stuff I'm taking with me. Maybe I actually will read it on the drive down..... :rotfl:

I am so jealous of people who can read in the car. I get  . I can barely read a map while the car is moving, and the laptop screen is out of the question (my husband decided that might work better than the map for me....no, it was MUCH worse). My oldest daughter used to read book after book on our trips from here to NY. I was grateful that she could...it kept her busy.

So...those of you that like Kenneth Branagh's Shakespeare films (I spelled his name wrong before...I'm always adding letters to it)...have you seen As You Like It or Twelfth Night? I'm not positive, but it looks like they are part of his "Renaissance Films" but he isn't actually in them. I haven't seen them, and I'm trying to decide if I should buy them. I love the four of his Shakespeare films that I have. And speaking of Shakespeare, did anyone besides me HATE Hamlet with Mel Gibson in it? I like Mel, but it was just completely out of the question to manage the "suspension of disbelief" to see him as a moody teenager.

Debbie your quilts are too cute! I love the last 2...and I might have to come raid your stash for that winnie the pooh fabric. One of the young couples in our church is having their first baby and she likes the classic pooh so I thought I'd make her a quilt. She won't tell what name they picked out so I can't make her a wreath like I usually make for babies. Where did you find the fabric?? The diaper bag is too cute! I'm in the process of making Jacob's diaper bag, but since I'm kinda designing it as I go without a pattern it is very slow going. I'm kinda making it to resemble one of DH's uniform shirts.

Thanks for the articles on Sarah. Seriously I love this woman. Even more, I love her little daughter, Piper....there's a firecracker if ever there was one....give them 10 years or so and I'll be wishing I could introduce her to one of my boys....

Glenn...ya know...there just aren't words to express how much I am looking forward to seeing his new show. Seriously if there were a chance for me to sit down with anyone in the world right now and just pick their brain....it would be him hands down. He hates his neighbors and I have the east coast, but I'd consider moving there if our families could be next door neighbors...I'd be helping him build his fence (and wind turbine:lmao: )

Soarin-have a fabulous time. I can't wait to see pics. I so hope DH and I can afford to take a vacation to WDW this year, even if it is just a short one. Alot will depend on how the littlest one is faring at that point. He's just about 6 lbs now...but the little stick boy just keeps getting longer not "rounder" so he doesn't look like he's gaining any weight!!! He's already grown 4 inches in the 2.5 months since he was born! (DH is 6'4" and 165 so I really shouldn't be surprised). My goal for next year is to weigh LESS than DH since he has an entire foot on me height-wise. Right now we're about the same.

*sigh* ok its now 645am and I've been at work for an hour and a half....and spent most of that time catching up on this thread so I suppose I should go back to work now. :)
