We should at least give Obama credit for not attempting to offer the Marine a fist bump.

Thank you. I don't know anything about military protocol, so I appreciate you explaining this to me.1. military personnel, while on duty especially, are not "buddies" with the president. he is their commander and the protocol requires a salute. the salute says, "i respect you as my commander", and the president's salute says, "thanks, i respect you too". a dude-ish handshake does not translate as respect to trained military personnel. the commander doesn't initiate the salute, with the exception a solder having earned the medal of honor. also, an injured soldier isn't required to return a salute. out of courtesy, the inferior rank salutes first.
2. i'm happy to stoop. i don't care. if there's a stupe in the white house, i'll stoop for ya'll. you're much nicer than i am.![]()
Not stirring the pot here, but I'm asking honestly because I don't know. Was it disrespectful for the President to shake the hand of the Marine? Or is it because he caught the Marine off guard? Should he have waited to shake the Marine's hand once they were both on the helicopter? (Does that Marine actually go on the helicopter with him?)
Question 2 - WHY were these people who bombed the Cole - why were the charges dropped? What is the President's reasoning for this?
(I am doing my best to not say "Obama" and instead I'm trying to say "The President" or "President Obama." I will not stoop to what the Left has done for the past 8 years in demonizing President Bush).

I don't have much respect for communists - no matter what position they hold. I'm funny that way

That's about the funniest (and saddest, because I could actually see him doing it) thing I've read in a long time.![]()
That was very funny! So was your comment on another thread about the waaaaaaaaaambulance! I have always referred to Obama as Obama, and I always referred to Bush as Bush. I never considered it to be disrespectful.
They will continue to label anyone who disagrees and dares to criticize him as "disrespectful". They are even pulling the patriotic card.
100% agree
I have a very low opinion of them and the junk that spews out of their mouth.i had a post session with a lib...she didn't like that some of us used his initials, bo, 'cause they thought it was insulting...'cause in, like, second grade, it meant body odor (shows their level of sophistication that body odor is the first thing they think of.) it was decided "bho" was better, even though at first using the "h" wasn't okay...now it is. that's how i refer to him...bho.
)
to refer to Obama by his real middle name, he calls him by Nixon's middle name.

Me too. I call Obama; Obama. I call Bush; Bush. Had McCain been elected, I would have called him McCain and called him McCain throughout the entire election. I call Palin; Palin. I call Hillary, Hillary, because I call Bill Clinton, Clinton, so I had to have a different name for her. I never refer to the President as 'President so-an-so' in conversation, but if I were to actually meet and speak with that President, I would use the formal address of 'President so-an-so"
100% agree
Ignore them. Who cares about their opninons of us?I have a very low opinion of them and the junk that spews out of their mouth.
I listen to Mark Levin. (love him - esp. when a Lib calls in; spews a bunch of nonsense and Mark yells "you're an idiot!" and hangs-up up on them!)
But he calls Obama "Milhous". Why? Because; since it is "racist"to refer to Obama by his real middle name, he calls him by Nixon's middle name.

Would someone please send Gibbs a memo to stop constantly licking his lips while he speaks.![]()

They can call me disrespectful. I don't care. I don't respect Obama. I don't like him. I'm not wasting my time typing the office he holds.

Hi all. Another press conference-I sure don't remember that every press conference during Bush's time was televised.
Robert Gibbs is perfect he has the umm down. Tryed to keep count but after 22 in 2 minutes just gave up. Can't get over how much TV coverage-every day. Sure switching to the History Channel a lot. Can't stand listening to same old same old--we must pass this bailout or we are doomed. Enough already.
Sandy
I've got iTunes on shuffle and the TV is OFF. I'm tired of listening to all the doom and gloom predictions followed by smug assertions about who won. Wake up guys, you might have won the battle, but you're losing the war. The American people are not happy with this stimulus package and all your fear mongering isn't going to change that.

website on the obama shaking hands with the Marine. There was someone actually pretending to be the Marine and said he enjoyed it and it showed respect to the Marines!
I thought his administration was going to be different?
