I haven't made a reservation on the passholder website yet and need to get a couple of trips set up. I am a bit confused on how this new system works. Is it better to just call and talk to a CRO or do you stand the same chance of getting a discounted rate either way you set the reservation up? How do you know if they are able to discount your rate when the discounts are released? Do they do it based on when you made your reservations or randomly? Any clarification would be most appreciated.

If you use the AP reservation Best Rate Plan on the web site you are guaranteed to get the best rate for your stay. At this time the site is not taking dates beyond 4/13/2006. I am patiently [not] waiting for May to open up.

I understand that the rates are supposed to be the same whether you call CRO or book online, but that has not been my experience. At times, I have looked online and found no annual pass discount rates available, yet called and been able to get them. I have also had the reverse happen. Basically, just make sure you're getting the annual pass discounted rate (check mousesavers.com for rates), however you book. If you can't get the lower rate at the resort you want by one source (online or telephone), try the other. Certainly won't hurt. Check out mousesavers for a full discussion of how the program works.
