Help me out here, everything I am reading says that the least crowded days at MK are Sundays, yet the recommendation from the same sites say to visit Magic Kingdom (all parks actually) the day AFTER EMH. So, MK is least crowded on it's EMH day??? And the sites say avoid Monday, which is actually the day after EMH??
I am so confused!! What should I do?? I want to avoid the crowds as much as possible (obviously). I don't know which way to go...Any help is greatly appreciated. I am going back on May 7, for trip number 10!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

I would like to know this too. It does get confusing. Does anyone know the best thing to do? Thanks

Bump this up. I want to know, too. We always enjoyed E Ticket Night and knew that was the way to tackle the MK. But now.....? What to do?
Lucy's Mom

We went to the MK on a Saturday last June. It was the day AFTER a night EMH. It was the least crowded we had seen it all week.

We went to the MK on a Monday, a morning EMH, the place was PACKED!

My suggestion - go to the MK the day after EMH!

I've been hearing "go day EMH day" more and more too.

Do you think this would apply to AK too? Go to AK day after a night EMH?
(since they aren't open as late, wondering if it still applies there)

And go the day after any EMH, a morning or night, or just after
a night EMH?

When we went to MK last we made early breakfast reservations (8:00 am or so) at Crystal Palace on a day without the EMH. We finished our breakfast about 10 minutes before the park officially opened (9:00am). We walked as far as possible towards fantasyland (I think there was a rope blocking off the passageway through Cinderella's castle). At 9:00 we hit fantasyland. Lines were non-existant! We did all of fantasyland (except Mickey's Philharmagic and Its a Small World) in less than 1hour! :Pinkbounc

We used the same strategy with Epcot, but with less success. We had breakfast at Norway (we weren't able to get as early a breakfast). Unfortunately the World Showcase doesn't open until 11:00 am so we had to back track to Future World. We LS, tL, JI and got a Fastpass for TestTrack before the the WS opened at 11:00. So, still not too bad. :confused3

We did the same with Animal Kingdom and Donald's Breakfastosaurus. We had done all we wanted in the park by 2pm.

I think with the Park Hopper as an option less people are getting it therefore they go to the EMH park (am or pm) to get the most for their money. So I would think if you go to the park that's not EMH that day you'll have less crowds.

I'm sure I'm over analyzing this but like penal3 I want to avoid the crowds as much as humanly possible. I've heard Mondays can be awful at MK, but what if the Monday is the day AFTER a late EMH as in the case of Mon. May 8? Would a monday after evening EMH at MK be ok? Anyone tried this?

yes, i am curious too.... i will be arriving sunday may 7th...was going to do the EMH evening...but what about park crowds the next day at MK...?
Last time i went in may, i didn't wait more than 20 mins for any ride

Ok guys, I am even more nervous about the crowds now....have you noticed that 3 of us out of 8 postings are there the same week?! I had trouble booking my flight that week as well. I hope it isn't too crowded....of course I will have a blast anyway, but.......
:cool1:  :woohoo:

yes true, i noticed also...but last time i went was in may 2004 and i didnt wait for more than 20 mins for any ride, nothing had lines except the big rides and we used fast pass...ive gone in may, june and october, and i choose may again!

We have always gone on Sunday to MK, but never during an EMH. Sunday has always been good to us at MK.

This time we have to go on a Monday - Is Monday really that bad?

Me too! May 6-9. Decided to not do MK on Mon the 8th and instead will do it on Sat the 6th, an early closing day with grad night. We will probably hop to MK Mon eve to see Spectro and Wishes. Still sounds to me like moderate crowds.

well having looked at the schedules it seems that in the off seasons they rarely hold a morning EMH and an evening EMH on the same day.... I'm going in October and so far I think the best plan is to

hit a park thats just had an EMH until late afternoon and then switch to the park that's got EMH that evening (that is as long as you have the park hopper option which we will)

Since we mostly go Off Season, I didn't even know that a Park could have both the am & pm EMH. That's one long day for the Park of choice. For MK would that be from 8am to 1am? Or more like one hour in the am (8am) and just two in the pm (12am)? I can't imagine having only 8 hours of closed time.

Actually, for my trip during Easter, MK opens at 7 am for onsite guests and on Sunday, the 9th it stays open until 3 a.m. (for EMH)! It will be open at 7 a.m. on Monday for onsite guests, so that's only 4 hours for the rides to be closed!

That's crazy.....I would think that it would take more than four hours to get everything cleaned up & ready to go again! Perhaps I am underestimating Disney behind the scenes. Also, don't the rides need to be shut down and inspected? I wonder how long that takes to safely do.
