I may be crazy, as well as confused, but I have started thinking about a WDW vacation in Summer 2007. We want it to be two weeks and have enough points to do a week at BCV and a week at OKW. So, let me see if I've gotten this right: at eleven months out I book BCV and OKW, each for a week. If I wanted to spend the whole time at BCV, I would have to wait until 7 months out, when I might be waitlisted. If I was lucky and got the second week at BCV, I would just cancel the week at OKW.

How much of a hassle is it to change rooms mid-vacation? Do we move our things or do the CMs do it?

TIA

do you own DVC or are you renting points??? If you own you can book 11 months out at your home resort but if you want something other than your home resort you have to wait till the 7 month window.

So if you are renting you will need to do it thru owners that have that resort as their home resort for the 11 month window.

We are actual DVC owners at both BCV and OKW. We banked this year's points as we are having a family reunion as our vacation for this year. We have enough BCV points to stay at BCV for a week or so and enough OKW points to stay at OKW for a week or so.

Do you own at both OKW and BCV?

From the looks of your siggie, you own OKW. If you only own OKW, then at 11 months you can book 2 weeks at OKW. At 7 months, you can try to book BCV if it is available, or go on the waitlist.

If you own OKW, you cannot book any portion of your BCV trip until you are 7 months or less to checkout.

As far as moving, I hate it, but it is a necessary evil. You can call Bell Services to remove your luggage and deliver it to BCV so they do try to make it easier.

Ok, I see you own both.

Then yes, you would do as you explained, or you could borrow points from next year and book your entire stay at one resort.

You are neither crazy nor confused- You've got it exactly right based on owning at both resorts and having banked your points. We have moved mid vacation and enjoyed being at two totally different resorts. It was not a big hassle but we have always had a car so just put the stuff in the car, checked in at the second place and if the room wasn't ready enjoyed the pool or went to the parks. If you have perishable food to move you can just leave it with bell services and collect it once you get your room. Have fun planning and enjoy your trip.

No problem moving except for packing.

If you enjoy both resorts what is a couple hours of inconvenience after a 2 week stay. I know bell service will move your luggage for you but it doesnt move as fast as you do. You will have to go to the resort and check in and your stuff will arrive eventually. Just like when you first arrive with Magic Express. But after you check in head out to do whatever you have planned and when you come back your luggage will be waiting for you.

Have a great time!!! One day I will be able to take a 2 week vaca. but for now it will be long weekend till the gilrs are older!
