Confused about new AK hours

Thank you sir. So I can just show up? If I don't ride the rides do I still have to pay for the $150 after hours ticket?

I can say with 99.999% certainty that there will be no need for a $150 after hour ticket at AK to see the ROL...

Currently the $150 after hour ticket is only on select Thursdays at MK.

The shows in the parks are independent of EMH. In other words the park can close down all of its rides and then a show can still run.

In the case where EMH and shows overlap the guests can attend the shows but would need EMH to ride the rides..

The trick will be getting into the ROL show. You may need a FP+, or dinner reservation or be willing to attend one of the later in the evening shows.

We are going in late June - early July.

When we booked our trip in February, Animal Kingdom was scheduled to close every night at 5.
I also thought this was early . I couldn't remember when it closed on previous trips.
However, I double checked all the hours I recorded, and now Animal Kingdom is open til 8 the day we plan to go.

Dak hours will be until 9/10pm with the occasional 11pm close on some Friday/Saturdays. There will be a cast preview 12/13 and then dvc/ap previews to follow. Soft opening will start the 19th and go through the 21st, before the official grand opening.

In summer, the normal will be at least 11:00 pm, because they can't start the show until dark, which is 9:00. And they're running multiple shows a night, and the show is 20(ish) minutes long.

Where did you see a list of dates? Thanks

Thanks.

  • April 28 and May 5, 2016 from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM
  • April 14 and 21, and May 8, 12 and 19, 2016 from 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM
To a pp that I quoted earlier, those are not all Thursdays.

But now I realize that I am not awake this morning. It's the early morning dates that I'm looking for. :rotfl2:Good lord, I am a mess this morning.
Those are somewhere here but I'm not sure where. The official list was taken off the Disney site. So I guess even the list posted here on the Dis is subject to change

Yes I am. I was in a meeting the other day, where we covered all this. Of course, Disney can always change things last minute.
Don't guess they gave any info on whey they'll get around to changing the park hours. Quite hard to plan for our May trip without them

I would really like May updated hours also.

We generally don't get updated hours until maybe a day or two before they are posted on the website. We get the operating calendar a month in advance, and then receive changes as they are made.

@Cupcakey78 ... because inquring minds from the monster thread surely want to know ... was your cast meeting wihere the CM dates etc. were announced fairly recent (like just before Easter)? Those travelling in mid-April really are desparate for any info. Thanks!

But (and I'm sure I speak for almost everyone) I'm really looking forward to getting any sort of solid info for our upcoming trips!

Do you happen to know when AK's Hours and ROL Times for the 22nd and after will be made public?(if ROL's still on schedule of course) Soft openings are not published, correct?

They changed AK hours in June to 8pm about 1 to 1.5 months ago. But they'll extend them even more once they get ROL situated, I'm sure.

This was a very helpful explanation thank you. I am sorry if some of these are really dumb questions, I just don't want to do the wrong thing and miss out on any important experiences.
