Confused about Magical Express

I'm a bit confused about how the Magical Express system works. We found a great rate on Southwest out of Indianapolis for mid-May. I know that SW isn't a participating airline, so we can't avoid the check-in line at MCO by using the booth at our resort. However, can we still take the shuttle back to the airport and stand in the check-out line or will we have to find different transportation back to the airport? Sorry if this is confusing...thanks!

That point has not really been clarified, but I read it that yes you can. I would assume that the Mears busses that they are using will have under-carriage like most buses to transport luggage.

You would simply have to go through your normal check in at the airport. Only participating airline passengers can check in at their resort.

Please correct me if I am wrong, folks.

If Disney's Magical express is going to work at all like the DCL transportation from the port to the airport (and I think it will), you will have no problem taking the bus to the airport, just not checking your bags. When we were on DCL, we took the transport back to the airport, but were able to check our bags because we were on a participating airline. Those who weren't, had their bags loaded onto the bus and then were on their own to check-in at the airport.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the information seems less than clear. It looks to me like we can take it too, just not use the fast check-in at our resort. Thanks!

Since Southwest has a huge number of flights going into Orlando, I'm hoping eventually they will participate in the program. Could it be the whole boarding pass, non-assigned seat thing that is keeping them out of it?
