CONFIRMED: DCL no longer going to Matzatlan!!!

They have destroyed our family vacation and cannot even send us an email, and their customer service reps are the worst I have ever spoken to.

Troll???

You can't be serious....the # of people involved in this change that dcl made to ensure our safety...you have to be kidding. They deserve some time to get it sorted. Hopefully they were busy taking care of those that sailed away on Sunday

Don't feed the troll..........:rolleyes1

We had to find out about the change though Google to our Feb 20th cruise....we have been there twice and did not sign up for this...called Disney and got the unaround from Sue and will work with our travel agent tomorrow to cancel:mad:

I understand that the change in itinerary is disappointing, but destroying your family vacation seems a bit extreme, especially since you've got 3+ weeks notice to make adjustments.

If missing one port is going to completely destroy your vacation, maybe cruising is not the best option for you. :confused3

If you read your contract closely I think you'll find that DCL could sail around in circles, not pull into port anywhere, and still have fulfilled their contractual obligation to you. Not that I think they'd actually do that of course.

I'm disappointed not to be stopping in Mazatlan too. We really enjoyed our last trip there. But DCL is doing what they feel is best to ensure passenger safety.

I do agree that they need to take a look at the procedure they have in place for notifying folks of changes. Whatever it is, it's not working.

Having just come off the Cruise to Neverland, I'd be perfectly happy with that! :rotfl:

Seriously, though, I cannot tell you how many LA locals ask me about DCL and really really want to go while the Wonder's here... but balk at the money and time commitment of 7 nights for a first cruise. The 2-night sold out so fast, I honestly believe that Disney should scrap the constant MRs and throw in a few 3 and 4 night Cruises to Neverland so the Disneyland APs can get their sea legs. Hell, I'd do a B2B with nothing but sea days in a heartbeat!

:rotfl2:

To the poster claiming their vacation is "ruined": we planned our wedding around the Wonder's arrival in LA so we could have a Disneymoon that wasn't Disneyland and didn't require the cost of airfare. This is only our second family vacation and our very first as a couple without our daughter. We spent months pouring over the excursions waiting for our booking date, and the one we wanted to do more than anything else was the Salsa & Salsa in Mazatlan. We wanted it so much we logged in right at 9pm PST and I confirmed it in our account before booking anything else, just to make sure we had it.

So when we came back from the Cruise to Neverland and discovered Mazatlan had been cancelled on our MR next week? Of course we were disappointed. Has our honeymoon -- our last chance for an adults-only vacation for probably 20 years -- been ruined? Not a chance! We still have our spa villa, our Palo brunch (luckily we booked it for the last sea day!), our PV and Cabo excursions. Once we get onboard I plan to see every movie and go to every single tasting and cooking class they will let me into. I am going to have an amazing time because I am on a Disney ship with my wonderful husband. It doesn't matter where we're going or where we stop.

Disney is awful.....you guys have drunk the Kool Aid and the Disney folks can do no wrong by you....change the ports, no emails to let anyone know, stay in one port multiple days, and you give them every excuse in the world....Disney is a business, not a religion, and hopefully you can see that and hold them accountable as such

If you've got a TA as you said, your TA would have been the one notified, NOT you. It's up to your TA to keep the communication they receive from DCL flowing to you. To say you found out by using the Google search engine is almost comical.

Yup, Disney is a business....and a darn good one.

DW and I are booked on the 3/4/12 MR cruise which originally included a stop in Mazatlan. I just checked today on the DCL website and it now lists 2 stops in Cabo. I thought the 2 stops in Cabo was only for 2011. Does anyone know if DCL is considering a different port for 2012?

pve...just wish you were on our cruise, I'm hoping someone will cancel on my cruise so we can get a port upgrade, right now all the ship is full in rooms with 4 and no hopes...guess we're all drinking Koolaid.

NO! You cannot throw them overboard.

I wonder when the official notifications will go out???
Yesterday I got a personal e-mail from my TA with the changes and today she forwarded the official Disney e-mail notification. I'm assuming that everyone should recieve their notifications soon.

HA!! No! I merely meant I appreciate him needing to cancel the trip out of disappointment, so hoping there are others on our cruise that will do the same...it's a CRUISE people! But I could see where folks had family in Mazatlan and really wanted to stop and spend the day with them, that might make me reconsider a trip... still sad for Mazatlan folks...especially after hearing of all the cruise lines pulling out...:(

I don't know about anyone else, but I am far more excited just to be on the ship than the ports it will be visiting. I am sure we will have a great time no matter where the ship ends up. The actual ports just seem like gravy.

:thumbsup2

...ahhh, I see the entitlement fairy has made a visit to the thread:rotfl: I am just feeling really blessed to be going on a vacation with my DH who is NOT deployed, with my children who are healthy and the fact that it is a Disney cruise is icing on the cake!

Me too. After two previous cruises with DCL (which were outstanding compared to other cruise lines I've been on), I'd be happy to spend 10 days at sea on the Wonder, lol!!! :rotfl2:

I just checked my ressie - we leave 10/23 and it still shows Mazatlan

1 Los Angeles, California - 4:00 p.m.
2 At Sea - -
3 At Sea - -
4 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 7:30 a.m. 6:00 p.m.
5 Mazatlan, Mexico 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
6 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico 7:15 a.m. 2:30 p.m.
7 At Sea - -
8 Los Angeles, California 9:30 a.m. -

We leave 10/16 and it showed two Cabo days the other day, but now has Mazatlan again. Maybe they're looking for a different port? I hope they change it.
