CONFIRMED: DCL no longer going to Matzatlan!!!

Our 10 day April cruise has the change as well, no Mazatlan and 2 days in Cabo. :thumbsup2

I wonder if they're quickly realizing that they can't just change them for the Jan and Feb cruises.....because people in March and April are starting to make their plans already.

I thought formal night was night 2, which is a sea night? If not, I have to change my spa ressies.

Hmmm. That is very big news. I am on the March 13 Mexican Riveria and had already reserved an all day private excursion, not through Disney that I was pumped about.

I just went to DCL and it still shows the old stops on the web page, but when I went and tried to book a Matzalan excursion it wouldn't let me.

Hmmm. I bet it will apply to March 13 too. Waiting anxiously for more info!

I'd rather have two PV stops I think but I'm fine with two Cabo stops...or even another sea day.

I was excited about my Matzalan excursion & looking forward to it! :( Safety first though. I understand the decision.

I'd also like to see 2 PV stops.... :)

Disney needs to get it's ---- together! I just got off the phone with them and they said the first Cabo days port times are 11:00 - 7:30! That's a big difference! Disney doesn't seem to know what they are doing, the agent I spoke to didn't even know about the itinerary change!

Did you happen to ask if the in port times are the same regardless of which cruise you are on? Maybe it is 11-7:30 only for your cruise?:confused3

Since we have two days in a row in Cabo, do you think we will have to be back on the ship at a certain time, or experience the nightlife in Cabo?

Well, for the 3/27 sail I was told "sail" time was 7:30. It's a tender port so I guess that's the cut off. Sure am happy if the info given me was correct. 11:00 - 7:30 is awesome for Cabo!

Just off the PC cruise and tender was very easy did not do SE but also remember sometimes too windy to tender.

Since we will be there two nights in a row, do you think we will just stay in port all night, or just take the ship back out and redock the next day???pirate:

When we were on Carnival in '09 and stayed in Cabo 2 days in a row, we had to be back on the ship at a certain time, then the ship went back out to open waters and put down anchor. It came back into port the next day.

We had an overnight in Maui where we stayed tendered off shore. Hearing that sometimes the ships can't tender in Cabo all together because of rough seas...who knows. :confused3 Hopefully we will find out more soon. The first MR cruise starts tomorrow. :thumbsup2

Mariner of the Seas was slotted for our cruise date in Cabo (the new one) but another Dis'er said that was one of the ones that has already pulled out....I didn't know they pulled out that quickly, I thought they were 'announcing' pulling out of LA and it would take effect in several months...
RCCL announced in April 2010 it would reposition the Mariner of the Seas to South America then the Mediterranean.

A little patience is called for. this is a major change and will take a lot of work from folks at Disney. In true Disney fashion they will have it all worked out

So we are boarding tomorrow for the 1st MR cruise. I am posting mainly to subscribe so I remember to post when we get back. This am I was told that we aren't being told anything but will get a letter upon our arrival. I imagine it will be chaos. Wishing for lots of pixie dust as I sit here@ DLR keeping positive thoughts for tomorrow. :cloud9:

I wonder how this is going to effect those of us who have Palo Brunch booked for the Now first Cabo day. I hope they move those booked for that day to the now sea day open between PV and Cabo so that we can book excursions for the first Cabo day.

I second your statement about hoping that Disney transfers the Palo Brunch reservations that people booked from Tuesday to Thursday because I would hate it if they canceled Palo Brunch entirely from the cruise or made people rebook for Thursday. I don't want to lose my reservation:headache:

For Feb 24 (new day at Cabo), I was told "guests ashore at 10:30" and "guest onboard at 7 pm." Ship to sail at 7:30 pm.

For Feb 25 (second day at Cabo), I was told "guest onboard at 1:30" (earlier than is listed on DCL site) and ship sails at 2 pm.

Day 3: Formal
Day 4: Pirate
Day 6: Semi Formal

It will be fine. ;) We had changeS to a cruise a few days before sailing and then again apon boarding that same cruise. Because of Hurricane Ivan we couldn't go to the Caymen's and one of the engines wasn't working so we couldn't go to their private island either. This is where we found we LOVE days at sea. :lovestruc We made the best of it and we both agreed we would go to the Caymen's another time. :goodvibes We also really enjoyed the cruise we stayed overnight in Maui. It really gave us the time to explore the island more...it was wonderful! :woohoo: Have a WONDERful time!!

We are leaving tomorrow on the Wonder for the Mexican Riviera.... we hadn't planned anything for Mazatlan anyway so no big loss to us. I'm glad Disney is taking precautions. Another day in Cabo is fine by me :)
