Concierge traveling with non-concierge

Boarding early is a concierge perk. One that people pay for.

I thought that the rest of the passengers were right behind us, non concierge guests when we've boarded before so I didn't think it was that early. No worries, we will board later not a big deal for us. Thanks for the input.

The order goes: Back to Back(they will be in the lounge), Concierge, Family of the day, then regular boarding. This is a stretch but if they can't get #1 boarding, they could leave their stuff with concierge they go off ship and wait with them to re-board.

How much earlier do Concierge passengers board before Boarding Group 1? On our cruise last month, once the boarding process started with Group 1 it moved very quickly and that was on the Fantasy so a large ship with many waiting in the terminal.

I think #1 is platinum cruisers... I have always gotten the earliest PAT slot and have been 2 or 3 depending on the number of platinum and gold cruisers on the cruise.

That is a very good question, I don't know. I have only been in concierge, sorry. It takes about 15 minutes to board Concierge. I'm guessing FOTD is another 15 minutes. So I'm thinking no more than 30 minutes.

They did in Miami - but there was not a lounge to "sneak" them onboard from.

In Port Canaveral they have a table with coloring sheets in the main terminal outside of the lounge.

I meant "sneaking" concierge in - since in Port Canaveral they can enter without anyone else in the terminal knowing.

Port Canaveral has a concierge lounge. Disney has the long term use of that terminal there exclusive to them. So they can have the lounge set up there. They don't have an exclusive terminal in Miami, hence no lounge and entering the same way as the rest of us, just between family of the day and the lowly unwashed non-concierge masses.

I was under the impression that the Dream Class had more concierge rooms anyway - so I don't see why that would make a difference.

I only used sneaking in quotes because no one in the non-concierge section of the terminal really knows when concierge goes aboard because there is not a terminal-wide announcement and they don't use the ears portal.

We sailed on the Fantasy on Feb 11 which ended up being a day that our cruise staff did training/testing with the Coast Guard. It meant about a 45 minute delay in boarding for everyone. I believe they do this once a month with each ship.

I'm not sure if it's normal timelines but from the time we first saw crew members enter the terminal to sign kids up for their wristbands until boarding group 1 was called was about 20 minutes. I'm guessing they may have boarded Concierge within those 20 minutes too?

That is probably because of the inspection - the timing I mean - since the people who do the kids' club registration are the people IN the kids' club, so they would have to be part of the inspection. I'm pretty sure that there have been kids' club people for registration as soon as people are able to check in when there is not inspection or a delay.

Yup, usually YA are there before the terminal is open, ready to go.

I'm guessing it was a coastguard drill that delayed it. Yes, every ship does them, but not once a month (you're lucky to get one a contract, so about every 5-6months), so it's not a normal/regular occurrence that will delay boarding.
