Concierge Suite vs Concierge Family Stateroom

Can someone please clarify the differences between a Concierge 1-bedroom suite and the Concierge Family storeroom on the Disney Dream?

Space, for one. The one bedroom has a lot more space - bed that you can close off the walls to, a sitting area, more closet space, bigger bathroom (huge bathroom - like bigger than my bathroom at home). Probably someone else can give you specifics - we stayed in the concierge family stateroom and my parents had the one bedroom.

You can also get room service from the MDR in the one-bedrooms. There are probably some other differences, but those are the ones that come to mind.

The Concierge Family room is basically a 4A on the Concierge floors, 304sq ft. The 1bed suite is exactly that, a real 1bedroom suite, twice the size of a 4A, 662sq ft. Check the room floorplans.

Cat V's are smaller and you can't order hot breakfast or dinner from the MDR's.

Quick question that fits into this discussion -are any of the concierge family staterooms connecting? We will be a party of 6 and since very few of the concierge suites will accommodate that, we are looking for other ways to stay together.

No, they only connect to 1 bedroom suites and I believe 2 connect to the Royal suites. There are a few that are adjoining, they just don't share a connecting door.

Just stayed in a 1 BR on the Dream in Sept. Another difference is the ability to order room service from the MDRs. We had a good and a bad experience with this, so I'm guessing it's hit or miss, but the first time was amazing! It was personalized service as if we were in the dining room, but we sat in our suite, with the verandah door open, and enjoyed a four course meal!

Yes, there are connecting category V and T rooms.

Just out of curiosity, what was your bad experience? We were on the Dream in a 1-bedroom last month as well. We ordered dinner from the MDR once and it was a good experience, although all of our courses were brought in at the same time. I was wondering if that was the norm.

You can definitely do that - that's what we have for our upcoming cruise.

If you sail on the classic ships the Cats S and Cat R (2 bedroom and Royal) both sleep 7.
