Concierge service

I think I've met my twin, lol! This is ME on a Disney cruise. Someone asked me the other day how I could sit on my verandah every day ALONE. Um, relaxing! I don't want to be out and about doing everything on the ship. Most people don't get that. Sure, I do a thing or two a day but otherwise I spend time with my son and relax. I have a stressful job and a stressful life as a solo parent. I am not a 'hardly in my room person'. I cherish taking time to myself to just de-stress and regroup because I pretty much never get to do that at home. I haven't done concierge yet but from what you say I think I'm going to LOVE it even more! :cloud9:
We just returned from our first concierge and my very tight - financially aware spouse determined when he is with us we will ALWAYS be concierge . We literally had that concierge deck upstairs to ourselves - I read three books in privacy- with ample food and drink available and no chaos !

I bet the people in Concierge on the Dream and Fantasy right now are happy to have the assistance of the hosts. They'll help make the current situation much less stressful.

I'm about to book Concierge through Costco, and it is only giving me an option for second seating. Will Concierge help me have a chance to move up to first seating for dinner?

yes, you can make that request from shoreside concierge...

although we just did 2nd seating on the dream and really liked it....

but both are good...for me it depends on the activities schedule as to whether i take first or second seating..

.

I'm debating as well.

Part of me thinks having the kids more alert for the earlier "shows" is better, especially considering you can do in-room dining in concierge from any menus. Sounds like a decent plan a few nights to see the early show and then eat in the room.

I guess we have time to decide.

how old are your kids?

We have tried it both ways. We prefer our DD to fall asleep in the show rather than fall asleep at dinner.

Kids are 9 and 5.

Early seating sounds better, barely.

I was surprised if I book on-line they aren't even taking requests for first seating, but hopefully concierge will help.

with kids that little, i probably would go for first seating as well...
so if i were you, i'd request first seating from concierge right away...don't wait...

they might be able to get it for you...

also, if you want a table of your own, you can request that from shoreside concierge as well...

I just booked, when will I have access to concierge? It's an end of February Cruise, but it seems payment in full is due about 130 days ahead of departure through Costco.

i don't remember...
but try contacting them now....the worst that can happen is they tell you to wait...

OK, here's the pickle, how do I find out how to contact them. I was looking on-line for a phone number or e-mail.

Thanks all for the help.

You're guaranteed the seating time you want when booking concierge. Shoreside will change it for you.

You can call them with questions anytime and will be able to make requests 125 days before your cruise.

In May, I booked a concierge cat. V room for next years Star Wars At Sea Day during Spring Break, on Fantasy. At the time of booking, they only had 2nd dining available. I asked to be put on the - first dining - "wait list." I was confirmed of the change to - first dining - within a week of making the reservation. Just ask, and if you don't get it, push harder with the shoreside concierge before your cruise. I suspect you'll get it.

I've only done 1 cruise thus far (on Wonder in 2016), and decided to splurge a little for our second cruise. Yes, it's a premium, but sometimes you need to live a little. I don't know if i'll make this a habit in the future, but it's a personal decision for each of us. Do what feels right to you. It's your money, forget what anyone else says or thinks! The advanced reservations and not having to worry about not getting what you want out of the trip is worth it to me. I was frustrated a few times in not getting what I wanted on my first cruise. In preparation, I've already created my list of advance reservations/requests to ensure I get the most out of this trip. The cabana is not on my list. I'm more excited about this cruise than my trip to Hawaii.

Just remember that in room/suite dining is for Cat. T and above, Cat. V does not include dining from MDRs.

A few questions for those who’ve gone “concierge" on Fantasy or Dream…

If I want to be one of the first group(s) to get onboard in Port Canaveral (due to concierge room), am I correct on planning to arrive at 10:30 AM to check-in, boarding about 11 AM or shortly there after? Is this still true? We’d like to enjoy the pool/AquaDuck area for an hour or so before it gets crowded. From a recent Navigator posting, it looks like the pools/AquaDuck don’t open until Noon on embarkation. Anyone recall what time those areas got crowded, I.e. 1:30 or 2 PM?

I’ve also read some folks saying - Enchanted Garden - is open for a sit down lunch on embarkation, nicer than the buffet. Anyone experience this? Thoughts?

When you are escorted up to the concierge lounge upon boarding, how long do you have to wait / how long does it take for the concierge person to review your itinerary, etc.? If pool/lunch outlets are not open it’s fine, but once they open I’d rather enjoy those areas prior to them getting crowded. Then, go back to the concierge lounge for review afterwards. Any comments on this?

Last question, regarding getting off the ship in non-tender ports / CC / last day - debarkation, do concierge guests get escorted to the front of the line? I’ve read about it happening for tender ports. I really didn’t like the LONG endless line I stood in last year when I got off the Wonder on debarkation. It took forever on the last morning. I’d prefer to be able to get off at my leisure without waiting in a line (at least that’s what I’d expect paying to be in a concierge room). If not, any guidance on how bad the lines are?

Thank you to the seasoned cruisers!!! I was totally oblivious on my first Disney Wonder cruise (and first cruise ever). This time around, I’m trying to get a better understanding up front to maximize our enjoyment when we get there.
