We are cruising in April and a Platinum CC member. I found that Concierge check in is part of that, but what does it include? Do we get to board with concierge guest without having to get a number?

No, you do not get to board without a number. You get a number.....it is the number 1.

Our experience--walked into the terminal and CM offered to "escort" me to the concierge line. Thanked her, but told her that I knew where it was. Checked in at concierge/platinum line, got platinum lanyards. Asked about cost of upgrade and decided not to do it. Given boarding card number 1 at concierge desk.

Security photos were taken in the regular line, not the concierge security photo camera. There was no line at all for photos, walked right over. Photo taken (they did NOT take our boarding card!) By the time we had finished photos, boarding had already started. Security photo guy took us to the boarding area where he removed the fabric/tape thing that is used for crowd control and told us to go ahead and board (thus cutting the line totally). If we had checked in before boarding started, we would have been able to wait in the roped off concierge section.

One note..these services are available only to platinum members and people in the same cabin with a platinum member. If you have linked cabins but one is platinum, one not the second cabin will not get these perks. No personal experience with this, but we saw someone try it and they were politely re-directed to the standard line.

Do platinum members check in at the concierge desk or the regular CC line??

thanks for the info! We sailed one of the first few weeks that the new tiers were in place. At that time we checked in at the regular CC line. I'm glad to hear there is a sign to help clarify where to go!!

Thanks so much. This will make check in nice and easy.

Was on 1/30 cruise and checked in at concierge/platinum line. She took picture right there. You get a boarding pass #1. You dont get to sit with the concierge people.

Looks like they are continuing to change the system; my cruise was on the Magic in December so your info is more current.

I didn't know there was a different place to sit, so I don't feel like I am missing anything. Thanks everyone!

They no longer allow platinum folks to sit in the concierge sitting area?

I wonder if this is a new rule, or based on the # of platinum guests per sailing. The seating area isn't that large. Perhaps if there are only a small # of platinum guests on the cruise, they allow it, but if there are a great many, they don't?
