ITA - We stayed CL at the Poly last May and you are correct in that the service was WAY sub-par. We thoroughly enjoyed our Cl stay at the Poly the year before, but after our last experience, we will probably never again stay there! I'm so sorry to even write these words, as we truly did love the Poly - and my grandson keeps wondering why we're even considering anyplace else.... However, our next trip will not include the Poly - CL or otherwise....

Tried to convince my neighbor to change her Christmas vacation to any other deluxe to no avail. She loved Poly as a child and I could not convince her. She returned after being moved to the WL and said never again. I love the Poly and really wish they would get things turned around there. I also hate to write negatively about the Poly but feel I have to let people know as well.

I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. I just booked a room, AKL-CL for October. I would like to e-mail IPO, but I am not sure what exactly I am supposed to say to them. Should I just tell them that I have a reservation for October? Should I start asking them questions and let them know any plans we may have? October is a long time away (290 days until the trip... GRR!) and I would hate to be a pest so soon.

Any thoughts?

I would probably wait until about 200 days out to contact them. Nothing can be booked prior to 180 anyway.

Thats what my thought was. I just wasn't sure if it was better to just get in touch with them to say "Hi" sort of thing, or just wait. I'll stick with my gut and hold off for a little while. Thanks!

I think I sent them all of my requests for ADRs, Sunrise Safari, Wishes Cruise, etc. about 190 days out. They were able to secure all of my requests without any issues. We're staying 15 nights so not all of my stuff was open at the 180 day mark. They booked what they could at 180, then booked the rest a few days later. So far the IPO staff have been terrific! :)

I just booked the same  & I am planning to send it approx. 200 days out. I am going to list my requests in order of importance and hope for the best. I always had done all of my ressies myself, so this is very very hard for me to give up control being a total control freak! Looks like we will be there at the same time...Long Island will be in the house!!

we just came back from a great akl cl stay( there were a few mess ups that were a pain because of their system change) but we ate at whispering canyon one night (not really impressed with the food but was fun) and they let us take a tour of the wl cl and the girl told us all the info about it...i think we may try it this year sometime soon!! I like that the cl is on the same floor as your room.
Can anyone give me more details on staying at the wl cl?Thanks!!

We stayed at the WL/CL from 12-23 to 12-31. We've stayed before at the WL, but never CL.

Here is the link to my photos:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2582311&page=20

And, here are my observations:

~The lounge was very clean and neat and well stocked. Guests did an excellent job of bussing their own tables, and the lounge staff did an excellent job of cleaning-up after those who didn't.

~Unlike the Atrium Club, there seems to be a dedicated, full-time lounge staff who are completely separate from the IPO staff. This made for a much more pleasant experience.

~Like most lounges, breakfast and snacks are exactly the same everyday. What you see in the photos is what we saw everyday.

~There was always plenty of seating, which isn't always the case at other lounges. There are many chairs, tables and even an area with sofas and two areas with TVs. I really preferred this arrangement over the Regatta Club and Atrium Club, my other CL experiences.

~The view from the lounge is spectacular. The view of the courtyard and Bay Lake is lovely as well as the view from the 7th floor lounge down to the lobby.

~I did not find the IPOs to be particularly helpful. I only needed assistance from them twice and both times they were not very helpful.

Once, they reluctantly and after looking pained searching, gave me one sheet of stationery that I needed so that I could write a complimentary letter to the GM about a front desk CM (they no longer have stationery in the rooms). The second time they completely ignored my request for an ADR for WCC. I left a message in the morning asking for an ADR, but they never returned my call or made the ADR. But this is just my limited experience with the IPO, your mileage may vary.

~*I didn't like that the lounge is completely locked-up in-between service times. You can't even get a cup of coffee or water or soda when they are closed. It would have been nice to have some beverages available in-between breakfast and snack time, for example or in the late afternoon.

~*We were placed on the 5th floor (courtyard view room with two queens), but I would have preferred to have been on the 7th floor. I need to ask this question to some different threads to find out if this is common to not actually be on the 7th floor. I think you end up with a dormer room with a courtyard view if you're actually on the 7th floor and the front desk CM was probably trying to give us a better view:confused3

Let me know if you have any other questions.

*UPDATE: I booked the Old Faithful Club yesterday, but before I did, I emailed the IPO and asked about the 7th floor. She said that all the std. CL rooms are on the 7th floor and that since we were a check-in upgrade and there were no 7th floor rooms left, they placed us on the 5th floor. She said that we would definitely be on the 7th floor since we've booked it.

Also, while the lounge is locked-up in-between service, an IPO CM did offer once to get me coffee when he saw me standing near the locked gate. While I did appreciate him doing this for me, I felt like I was really putting him out because he had to unlock the gate/door, get the coffee and then go to another locked room where the lounge staff work to get some milk for my coffee, as it wasn't in the lounge at the time.

Is anyone else having difficulty reaching BC/YC IPO by email?
My message was returned.

I gave you more details above.

Since I also booked the Kilimanjaro Club yesterday, what did you like/dislike about the lounge and staff? Was the lounge area clean and food replenished? Were you on the 4th floor? Did they greet you upon arrival?

I'd love anyone's comments on the Kilimanjaro Club since this will be our first stay there:).

WDWKOOK: Thank you for the great review, comments, and pictures re WL CL. We are contemplating trying it in the future. A few questions: I didn't see pictures of any oatmeal for breakfast -- did they have any? What I loved about BC CL was the fresh oatmeal and toppings plus the hard-boiled eggs.

Also, the menu picture you posted mentioned cheese and wine from 5-7. I assume there were also hot appetizers?

I too would be interested in more specific info as we are staying there for the first time in May. I would add one other question in addition to what the PP asked--

If you didn't find something specific in the lounge that you were looking for (food or beverage wise) were they willing to get it for you if possible or were you limited only to what was available at each time?

My message was returned.

I was having a very difficult time until I realized that the email on the start of the BC info page was not correct. I got the corrected email and have been conversing with them for the last week. Try this one:

Yacht.Beach.Club.Itinerary.Planning@Disneyworld.com

That is from my last email from them.

Good luck! They have been amazing to work with already.

You're welcome, TJA.

I was thrilled that last month the WL had oatmeal and toppings such as dried cranberries, brown sugar and white raisins because in August the Atrium Club didn't. A PP mentioned that the CR only has it seasonally. Well, yesterday, I asked the WL IPO about the oatmeal and unfortunately they only have it seasonally, too. What I don't understand is why it couldn't be offered year 'round like at the Regatta Club where they had it in August. The WL (and the CR) don't have the hard boiled eggs which we also loved at the YC. But, I guess that's what the WCC is for - a hearty and hot breakfast!

I didn't post photos of the hors d'oeuvres, but every night they had two hot dishes such as beef skewers or pulled pork with buns or a hearty soup and a selection of cheeses and always Uncrustables, vegetables, two dips, and a cold salad such as potato or bean or vegetable (the details escape me).

Ok. So in everyones own opinion, who has the best selection of things at CL and which is the worse?
