We're considering using ME for our transportation to the BWI. I know that for private check-in, the security guard at the gate has a list of concierge guests in order for the guests to have access to the private floor. How does this work with ME? Would we just have someone from Bell Services call up for a concierge CM?

ME really has nothing to do wiht concierge. the drivers know who is on board and what resort, they just go thru the gates...you do not do your check- in till IN the resort..so there is no issue at all there.

I think the question the OP has is how the concierge staff will know they have arrived if they use ME. If you drive or arrive by town car the security guard at the entrance radio or telephones up to concierge and they are waiting to take you to concierge check in on the special floor. You do not have to wait at the front desk. I'm not sure of the answer. Has anyone stayed concierge and used ME yet? I would imagine that you would notify the valet/bell staff when you disembark the bus, but I'm not sure. I suppose it's possible that the ME staff will notify concierge and they will still be waiting. Why don't you call IPO and ask??

When you check in at the Airport, they send a message off to the resort, so they know you will be arriving soon. The catch is that they don't know which DME coach you will be on, or who you will be when you get off.

If there isn't anyone to meet you curbside, just let a valet or bellman know that you are checking into Concierge, and they will take care of it for you.

Since you are staying at the BWI concierge, you have no problem. You check in downstairs at the regular counter.

BWI concierge is the ONLY concierge on property that does this (or doesn't do it). We have stayed there 4 times and NEVER checked in upstairs.

We stayed at BWI concierge in January 2005 and were checked in upstairs. They said they had just started doing the checkin there. Has it changed back since then? It was very nice not to have to wait in line, but sit accross a beautiful desk instead.

We've checked into Poly Conc> 15 times now and sometimes they've asked us to walk over to Hawaii as no golf carts are available, other times in off hours, we have to check-in at the GCH and a good part of the time we need to stand and wait for an available CM even if we are taken in a cart to Hawaii. None of these things bother me but I thought that I'd mention it. It's not as if you're pulling up and are going to be met with Evian spritzes and an icy rum drink and you might miss it if you choose ME. If all runs well with conc. check-in then it's a real convenience but otherwise I wouldn't make decisions around it. Have a wonderful trip. Threehearts

Our last stay there was in October.

I am glad to hear that they are now checking in upstairs.

Thanks so much for all the replies. I was also happy when I found out a few months ago that BWI is doing private check-in. Thanks Chip n' Dale Express -your "inside" info is always appreciated!
