Concerned About Gas Shortage In Oct!!

my husband works at autozone and said this week has been a nightmare. people fighting over gas containers and gas locks for their car. people are already stealing gas out of peoples cars. so he will be getting us 2 when ever they get in cause they are selling out fast. people are in a panic and it seems history is repeating its self. hope something good will happen soon so everyone can calm down again and we can look forward to our very much earned vacation.
good tip. I didn't even think about buying one of these though I had one in the 80's.

We in FL react this way. The media started talking about a gas shortage and everyone ran to fill up. 11 tankers landed in Port Manatee this week. It happened last year in August! We react immediately because it happens often . All our warnings.

The gas prices should be back to pre-hurricane levels by the Oct Columbus day holiday. That's if there are no other unforseen events that may effect the gas supplies and distribution method. Let's hope mother nature is done with her wrath this year.

Just a minor observation--I still see folks up here on I-83 driving their normal 75-80 MPH. Just slowing down to 60-65 would save untold gallons of gas nationwide.
THink we'll be able to do something that simple??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But it's so fun to go 80 mph across the river on my way to work! Not. I actually use 83 to commute but during rush hour in Harrisburg, you're not going anywhere close to the speed limit. More like 30, 5, 45, 10 mph. I would think this burns up just as much. :guilty:

Rush hour is a different situation entirely. Sitting perfectly still at "0" MPH is even more costly!! Plenty of folks would love to continue to do 80, but they simply CAN'T. The frustration--even fury-- on their faces is always something to behold!!
No-- I'm talking about "normal" everyday driving. No question whatsoever that 60-65 is far more thrifty than 80-85--and won't cost an arm and a leg in time. But plenty of folks (many of whom may have waited in those lines) continue to drive with reckless abandon--and burn that precious gas that they waited an hour to get!!

just went and topped of the tank cause the hubby got paid and thats what we do whether we need it or not. in harrisonburg,va its $3.19 a gallon at sheetz and thats cheap. for 5 gallons :sad2: .
