Hi, first off, thanks to all here who helped us make our decision to join DVC -- we close Monday!

I am hoping to try a juggling act, but don't know if rules will get in the way; maybe you more experienced folk can help. We have a CRO ressie for April 6 for a week. Given that our points should be in hand by mid-March (or so I'm told), I was going to see if I could waitlist at BWV or OKW for April 6 or 7 when I get the points. One problem is I have to cancel the CRO ressie with five days notice.

I got to thinking, even if the DVC ressie opens up a day or two ahead of date, we can still spend one nite at CBR with the CRO ressie, then move to the DVC ressie, say on the 7th. As we are driving, we can be somewhat flexible and could miss, or use, the first day (4/6).

Is this completely harebrained or do I stand a chance? Also and BTW, thanks to those who advised on the HH vacation - we leave tomorrow morning!

I'm trying to remember at what point closing is, but I know you can make ressies before your deed is filed. Call your guide and see if he can give you your membership #. I know we got oursfrom our guide and made our ressies 3 days after we sent all that paperwork back (some was notarized-there was so much I don't remember what all of it was for!). I know that was at least 2 weeks before the deed was filed.

I got my temp membership card with the paperwork package and was making first ressie before we closed. and we aren't getting points until Aug as that is our use year and we used Magical Beginnings so we had no points first year. You should be able to make a ressie before you get points, as long as the stay is for AFTER you have the points.

I am sure other DVC experts will jump in, but I believe all inventory goes back to CRO at either 30 or 60 days.

I am assuming that you purchased a resell, since Disney would let you reserve your room as long as you closed prior to your reservation date.

With a resell, you will need to wait until DVC has the recorded deed to prove ownership.

You should be able to know whether you can get a room using points prior to April 1st, if you close next week. I would wait list ASAP after MS knows you are an owner.

Since you will be trying to go during one of the busiest times of the year, I wouldn't be to hopeful of using your DVC points this year in April.

Good Luck!
