We are just staying 1 night before a cruise but can't decide. We need a 2 bedroom with 4 adults and 1 child. The other couple is particular so I want to make the best choice. Is one more updated? I believe Grand Villas is near Winn Dixie and ABC liquor which would be useful. Is there a liquor store near Sheraton Vistana?

Thanks in advance

We stayed 1 night at Grand Villa resort in a 2 br. The 2nd br had 2 twin beds. I’m not sure if they are all like that. We’ve stayed at SVR a few times. They have 2 sections that have 2 twin beds in 2nd br but the other sections have have 2 full in 2nd br. I think we picked up both groceries and liquor at Walmart.

There is a liquor store right next to Walgreens, which is at the Fountains/Lakes entrance to the Vistana.

MOST of the villas at SVR have a king bed in the master, two double/full beds in the second bedroom, and a queen size pull-out sofa in the living room. The exceptions to this would be the Falls villas (which have twin beds in the second bedroom), the Courts villas, and any two bedroom lock-offs. You are unlikely to be assigned a lock off as the resort will make more by renting them as two one bedroom villas. I am not sure what your check in day is, but Courts are Saturday only check-ins and Falls are ..... Sunday?, I think? At any rate, its most likely that you will be in Cascades, Spas, Springs, Palms, Fountains, or Lakes .... all of which have the two double/full beds in the 2nd bedroom.

I have not stayed at Grand Villas, but I believe the amenities at Sheraton Vistana Resort are a little more plentiful (and a little more high end). Check out this very active thread on SVR: there are lots of photos and great information for anyone who is considering a stay there. If you jump to the last couple of pages, I uploaded some very recent photos there (from our May 2018 stay).

We've stayed at both. Since the other couple is particular, I would choose SVR. It's a much larger resort and makes a better impression. Grand Villas is perfectly acceptable, and we enjoy staying there, but SVR has a wow factor that Grand Villas does not.
