Commencing Operation Christmas Miracle Trip 2010: PTR

the time is flying now. I can do online check-in tomorrow but I have decided I'm not going to do online check-in for this trip

I'm only doing it for the first part--I'll wait til we get there to do our package deal check-in.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!! :santa::santa::santa:

wow, amazing envelopes!!! I am kinda sad we only get mousekeeping once now since we are staying DVC, so no multiple envelopes to make for me.

yeah for online check in too- it won't be long now.

love the pics of the kids- so cute!:thumbsup2

Thanks. I wish I was that creative all by myself, but alas....I must scraplift from others!

I am busy color-coordinating our outfits for the trip and packing matching outfits together. This obsessive behavior has resulted from a traumatic photo experience on our last trip where *gasp* we had a lovely photo taken and we ALL CLASHED! :scared1: I can't stand it!

DD was very upset with me yesterday because "there's NOTHING in my closet mom! Everything good is in the Disney room! I don't have ANYTHING to wear! (you must hear this with a very dramatic, desperate 8 year old girl voice). It did not matter that there was still an entire closet full of perfectly wearable clothes. Princess Fickle Pickle didn't like those clothes yesterday. princess:

I'm also putting together the surprises for the plane and getting a package ready to ship with snacks and surprises for each day. :goodvibes

Busy, busy, busy! Only 8 more sleeps before Disney! :santa:

Only 7 more sleeps! :dance3:

Today I mailed my big box of snacks and prizes/gifts for the kids to myself at AKL. :thumbsup2 Also going to order a case of water from Staples. I don't mind paying for some things but I hate paying for water at the parks! :confused3

Yesterday I commenced with my new OCD way of packing for Disney. I think I'm pretty happy with it! DD has a habit of digging all the way through her suitcase to find things and throwing everything all over the place, so hopefully this will cut down on the messiness of the room! But this morning she saw the clean laundry on the couch. Uh oh! :rolleyes1

DD: (whiny voice) Mommy, there are SO many CUTE things we didn't pack! What about this? And this?!
Me: Anna, we can't take EVERYTHING.
DD: I know, but I want to take this cute skirt (holding up a skirt) and this (a shirt)
Me: (giving in) Ok. (thinking to myself, "Shoot. Now I'll have to find coordinating outfits for the rest of us to pack with it!")

DD's favorite part of vacation: "Packing up". She always wants to start packing up about 6 weeks before vacation. She already has her backpack ready to go.

:flower3:

Thats so funny how the other day she had nothing good to wear left, and then now she sees stuff that you "forgot" to pack that is just too cute to be left at home. LOL!

haha, too cute! we don't color coordinate, but i do plan out my DS's outfits- his 'adventurer pooh' t-shirt for AK, Toy story or star wars shirts for HS day, mickey shirt for Chef Mickey's etc. I put it all in a big ziploc, shorts, socks, t-shirt- and write the day in sharpie! makes it easier getting dressed each day!!!

lol at miss fickle pickle- too funny that she is already so into clothes!

I had a busy relaxing day. I was busy relaxing. :goodvibes

I got my hair done--cut, color and hi-lite. :)
I got my eyebrows waxed because my hair lady said, "Why not?" (you see why I love her? I've had the same hair lady since 1993 when I moved here.) :lovestruc
I got my fingernails done. :)
I got my toenails done. :)
I went shopping for some capris because I keep looking at the forecast (i.e. "stalking the weather") and the temperatures for the end of our visit keep rising and with all the recent hot flashes :scared: , I figured if it's over 65 I'll be dying in long pants. (An an aside, one time at church the heat was on way too high and I jokingly told one of the ushers, Steve (who is a friend of ours) that if they didn't turn the heat down I might have to start removing some clothing. A few minutes later DH saunters to the back of the church and casually mentions to Steve that it's too cool and could he please turn up the heat. :rolleyes1 He's EVIL I tell you! EVIL! To this day Steve will ask me if it's too hot. ) Ok, so where was I? Oh yes, the hot flashes and the weather.....so I found some nice capris and a cool pair of lightweight long pants that convert to capris. :thumbsup2 Now I just have to match them to some shirts and coordinate with clothes for everyone else in the family. :rolleyes1

Then I went out to dinner with DH and DSS while the kids are at play practice. :goodvibes We can't tell DS where we ate though. The church ladies have been fixing dinner each night of practice for the kids and adults in the musical and DS and DD HATE the food. (Well, actually I think they only THINK they hate the food because I see them eating it when I take them to practice. But in any case, they complain about it.) We went out to a local BBQ place where they have the BEST BBQ and had a lovely grown-up dinner. DS and DD LOVE this place. So :ssst: we aren't telling them where we went!

And finally, on today's agenda, I will post a photo of a local hidden Mickey (good luck!):

Geez louise! I just previewed my post and scared myself! :scared1: My toes look ginormous in that photo!

I love the hidden Mickey on your toe. I am not painting my toes, just my finger nails and everyone has seen my mickeys on my nails!!!

I love your toes. It is getting so close. I keep thinking this week how close I came to actually going this time of year, and then I get depressed. Skip was talking about how angry his brother is that it took this long for the Dr to finally decide to redo the hip. I told Skip there is no one that can be as angry as me...and Claire chimed in..."yeah, we could be going to Disney for my birthday!". Gotta love her.

Welcome to the world of Princess FICKLE Pickle!

That's great! I love how you pick the shirts for each park--so appropriate! :goodvibes

Thanks! My non-dis friends think I am completely nuts. Well....actually I am pretty nutty but that's beside the point! I tell the kids "Embrace your weirdness!"

Jen--don't you love it when the kids chime in to support your point with hubby? It cracks me up when the kids say, "YEAH Dad....." to whatever point I'm trying to make.

I totally understand about the coordinating of outfits. When it's just me and Jack, I do that. With all 5 of us it's too difficult, since everyone else is a grown up and can dress themselves. We do have Christmas-y shirts for MVMCP for everyone but my dad. Jack's outfits are always themed for the park we are going to.

Love your hidden mickey!

Whew! I'm glad someone understands! ;) My HM is really hidden today....socks and shoes required beacause it is COLD outside! Hopefully I'll be able to unveil Mickey a little next week. :)

Tomorrow is the kids' play/musical at church. I'll be glad when it's over for them. I think performing is anxiety-producing for them--especially for DS. They are both excited about the trip. DS is even counting down the days. He made some brownies for everyone tonight from a recipe he got in math class where they were practicing fractions in the kitchen. And they were GOOD!!! Perhaps he has a future as a chef! :goodvibes

Holy cow! Only 5 more sleeps! Just wanted to chime in to say that I've been enjoying your trip report and I hope you have an awesome, relaxing and absolutely fabulous trip!!

Exactly! :thumbsup2 Though I think he is getting antsy to go somewhere too. He even told me about a Disney cruise contest yesterday he heard about and told me to sign up. LOL! If course he didn't know the website to do it on. :rolleyes1

Have fun ant the church play! Today we are having Claires birthday party for the family ..and a couple of friends arecoming too since we aren't having an offical friend party this year. She has been driving me nuts all day so far and we still have 2 more hours. I guess I should go shower.

Thanks! We're down to 1.5 more sleeps now! :santa::santa::santa:

The kids musical was a riot. Complete chaos :thumbsup2 and the most FUN :goodvibes kids' production I've ever been to. All the kids' personalities just shone and they did a great job. Here are a couple of photos of my two (they are doing motions to the songs in the prodution):

DS had a better part where it was just him, but they used red lighting and he was further away from where I was sitting and I couldn't get a good photo. He was the kid in the play who thought everything was "lame." Not much acting going on there, I'm telling you! :rolleyes1

DD was the smart girl who took notes on everything and answered everyone's questions. I think she looks adorable in her glasses (and very smart too!) but she had to be convinced to wear them.

Today is my last day of work before we leave and tomorrow I'll be home finishing up all the last minute tasks that need to be done before we leave. The dog groomer came to the office and picked up Dara so she looks gorgeous and is all clean for her stay with her "dogparents" (godparents).

I'm hoping I have time tomorrow for a little crafty thing I want to do for the MVMCP party. :santa:

Oh, and here's Boo, sleeping amidst the princesses:

Wow, Boo looks just like Eileen.:lmao:

Have a great trip, we will be down shortly. Hopefully we can break that cold spell that is hitting Florida.
