Commencing Operation Christmas Miracle Trip 2010: PTR

Jen
Ummmm.....I don't know how to post videos.....ummmm....yeah. So.....I'll have to wait until I've seen it to know just HOW embarassing it is!

I am posting a link to this video called "The Gift of an Ordinary Day." I watched it this morning after a friend posted it on FB. After everything our family has been through this year, I am so thankful for every minute with my husband and with my kids. I'm thankful that my DSS has been able to live with us these past few months while he's been looking for a job. And it made me think about how much we are going to enjoy making memories together on our trip. Although the trip is not "ordinary" for us, there will be so many ordinary moments together, laughing, talking, arguing (come on--let's get real!) and just being together. :goodvibes I can't wait!! Hope you enjoy the video.

In 2005 I put my psychologist's license on "inactive" status to be a full time stay-at-home-mom. I wasn't sure if I would ever go back, but I wanted the option if I needed to later. I decided LAST year to renew my license this year which meant earning 20 CEUs and paying a bunch of money to the state of Maryland. So.....today, while I was home with a fever (the family went to church and then Bible quizzing) I completed a 6 hour online CEU class and I'm done! WOOT!
Yeah- big congrats to you!!

omg- that video so made me cry and i so relate----he's only 3, but i still sniff the fresh baby shampoo smell as i read him a book before bed. i cherish those moments now since we struggled to even have a child, but i know i will hug him a little tighter tonight and enjoy each moment!

DS had his best friend stay over last night, and I was in the next room working on photos on the computer. I could hear them giggling as they were playing a video game. I just sat there and listened to them laughing and talking and teasing each other with this smile on my face--enjoying them as they enjoyed each other. Then this morning I got up to take the dogs out (we are dog-sitting for my boss so we have our dog and his right now) and DD was awake, reading a book in her room. I went in and laid down next to her on the bed so she could tell me her dream that she had last night. (She dreamed that we went on our trip and all the kitties :cat: hid on the top of the car and when we got to the airport we didn't know what to do with them.) We just snuggled and talked on the bed for a while. It really is THOSE moments that are the most special, isn't it?

When DS and DD were babies I took about a kabillion photos of them because I wanted to remember every single minute of their lives. Then I realized that sometimes I needed to get out from behind the camera and actually be IN the minutes WITH them. :goodvibes

I thought you were going to take my suggestion and name the three legged cat Eileen!:lmao:

the no name cat is so cute. We have a new cat hanging around our back door and the kids keep asking when it's going to move in so they can name it:scared1:

Oops! Forgot to add ::MickeyMo Mickey Mail! That's exciting! :thumbsup2

I've missed you. Yep. Definitely missed you! :rolleyes1

You are lucky that your kids have not yet realized that they name the cat FIRST and then mommy is unable to say no! Once our kittens are named, they are ours. I try to keep them nameless as long as possible! That one is so cute though. I'm tempted to sneak her in the house. I think DH would disown me if I did that.

lovely photos.. I have 'tip envelope envy' now though... the ones I've made are nice, but yours are amazing! :cutie:

I was just wearing the pink version of that Mickey scarf today! I love them, really stylish and clever hidden mickey print! :thumbsup2

When did you get you ME stuff. I am still waiting. Guess I have to call to find out why I haven't gotten it yet, thought I would have it by now.

Maybe I should go check the mail. Today might be the lucky dayl.

No luck today either. I just transfered 211 more points to my Disney Reward card, I now have $960 on it. That almost covers the remainder of my Room balance. With that money, and what I have already paid for I should put less than $1,000 on the cc for room and food. Of course there will be souvenirs so I'm sure the total will head well above $1,000 by the end.

Awwww! I totally scraplifted them from twopeas. I'm not that creative all by myself. And having the cricut makes it easy. It was fun to do.

It came last Thursday but it's only for the 2nd part of our split stay. Disney never sent the part for our room only reservation so my TA called to get it sent to us. I haven't checked today to see if it came. She thinks we should get it by the 30th. :scared1:

Thanks for the reminder! I have one I need to check and see what we want to transfer to the rewards card. I used most of ours to pay the balance on our package but we should have more since then. :thumbsup2

Getting closer .....

Getting so excited...and now starting to get nervous! The anxiety has officially kicked in.

Just did online check-in for our room only reservation (first 2 days). I'm so excited to be at AKL!

the time is flying now. I can do online check-in tomorrow but I have decided I'm not going to do online check-in for this trip
