Sadly butiflfeet's trip came to an end yesterday but she passed on reporter baton to Chris (dvc4life), who just arrived and hit the ground "eating" with her first update...

Our last update sent to us yesterday was also from off-property.
Lauren (Giselle22) ventured over to the Dark Side and sent us this great update from her visit there.
Lauren said, "On Wednesday we went to Harry Potter Land!!! Universal has really hit on the one thing that could draw me away from my beloved Disney for a day.
Stepping into Hogsmeade was so, so exciting and magical!"
"They really did a great job. The shop fronts look like they could have actually been the movie set, and the castle is very impressive! Nearby the castle, students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons put on short shows throughout the day to add to the atmosphere, and all the team members we talked to in this area were great and very in character!"
"Since this isn't a Universal thread, and is a food thread, I'll try to keep this update at least mostly food-oriented though.
One of the first things we had to do was get some Butterbeer!"
"I'll be honest, it does just taste like cream soda, but they put a marshmallowy foam on top which is super yummy (and makes the drink even more sugary)! If you're not a fan of sweet sodas you won't really like this, but if you're a Harry Potter fan, I imagine you'll have to get it anyway."
"They sell all sorts of great sweets in Honeyduke's, like Pepper Imps, Exploding Bon Bons, and Ton-Tongue Toffee!"
"They also offer fresh sweets. Most of these are generic find-anywhere-in-the-park things, but there are a few Harry Potter-themed goodies: treacle fudge, rock cakes, cauldron cakes, and pumpkin tarts."
"We tried some treacle fudge--it tastes like white chocolate and has molasses-soaked raisins in it (if I remember correctly). I didn't love the raisins, and thought it was a bit too sweet to eat more than a small piece of at once."
"The Hog's Head bar serves some familiar draughts and their own special brew, which we were told is similar to George Killian's Irish Red, but hoppier (didn't try any)."
"We had lunch at The Three Broomsticks. DBff had a baked potato and frozen butterbeer. The potato was fine...it's hard to mess up a potato!"
"DMom, DBro, and I all got Cornish Pasties and pumpkin juice. The pasties come with a salad, which was basic. The pasties are tiny, but they are pretty good! The meat is well-seasoned. My aunt had the shepherd's pie earlier in the day, and I don't have a pic, but she said it was also good. I liked the pumpkin juice, but they give you a rather large cup of it and I found it difficult to finish. It's spiced like an apple cider, but also pretty sweet. If you want to try the pumpkin juice but don't want to pay $7 for a bottle, order a cup inside, it was only $3 and you get plenty!"

Good morning everyone! 
I took the night off last night because my DD2 was home from college for the long weekend so we had a family night out with dinner and a movie. In looking over the cocktail menu at the start of our dinner, I saw some cocktails with interesting names like "Stumbling Ann" and "Kentucky Hooch". However, my favorite was the one listed on the menu (pictured below) between these two cocktails.
Since the ingredients of this drink were to my liking, I decided to go for it! When our waiter came to the table to take our drink order, my husband spoke up first. (I should preface this exchange by saying that my husband loves to embarrass our kids in public whenever he has the opportunity. ) So anyway, my DH replies to the waiter, "I'll just have water but my wife wants "sox" (keeping this "G" rated ). Without skipping a beat, our waiter answers, "Ok, well I'll let our bartender know. His name is Chuck!" 
And so here it is...
FYI: This was as yummy as its name implies.

"She is allergic to nuts so the manager came to talk to us to make sure she was safe. Very friendly. And our server was amazing as well."
"DH and I split a burger and french fries and a Milky Way Sundae."
"It was all very good and filling. We used 2 TS credits. Our server charged DDs meal as a kids meal instead of an adult one. She explained that if we just paid for that, it would be a better value and we could use the TS credit somewhere more expensive. I really appreciated her looking out for us."

"Mike had a burger with blue cheese and onion rings (no pic). He loved it as well."
"We shared the banana bread with peanut butter for dessert. It was excellent! Slices of banana bread with peanut butter in the middle, like a sandwich. It was served with vanilla ice cream and banana caramel sauce. Out of this world yummy! Sorry I don't have a pic though. I checked the photo I took and it looks like a big thing of poo."
