We will be at BLT Jan 22nd - 28th I am mostly a lurker but would be willing to do live updates. We have mostly character brekfasts (our son's first trip at 20 months ) and a TS dinner every night. I LOVE this thread and look at it all the time so would like to contribute!

Our first update of the day is from Ellen (podsnel) and it's an excellent one...filled with lots of delicious looking food!


Ellen's group dined last night at their resort's (Animal Kingdom Lodge) Signature restaurant...

Ellen said, "Both Pods and I had the wild boar...incredible! I have had this here before but with a different preparation.

Guinea Hen "Doro Wot" Braised Leg and Berbere Roasted Breast, Sweet Potato, Wilted Greens, and Ancho Glace


Ellen said, "Steven (DH's brother) had this and loved it!"

Maize-crusted Atlantic Black Grouper with Vegetables of the Moment and Tomato-Butter Sauce


Ellen said, "Pod's black grouper was incredible!

Chermoula-roasted Nigerian Prawns with English Pea Nage and Saffron Rice with Orange and Olive Salad


Ellen said, "I had the prawns...they were enormous! A ton of spice on them for my taste, but I thought the rice with the olives was fantastic."


I of course then had to ask Ellen if her prawn were headless or not?


Her reply, "With heads! I'm no wimp."

Note from jabead: I didn't realize that they sold food/snacks in the Mission Space gift shop. I guess I've never thought about looking for food imediately after riding Mission Space.

Freeze-dried ice cream! It's been years since I last had that stuff...but I don't miss it.

And I love the Jiko update! That doro wat dish looks fantastic - I've always enjoyed doro wat at Ethiopian restaurants, and the egg on top is a perfect, authentic touch. Even though we loved the peri peri chicken, it's nice to see that the new chicken dish still features authentic African influences. The only thing missing is some injera bread for scooping everything up.

MMM, I love freeze dried Ice Cream. I used to get it from the Air and Space museum in DC every visit.

Jiko looks so good. I can't wait to try it as my first signature ever in January.

DH and I, maybe with two friends, maybe not, will be at Wilderness Lodge Villas from January 11, 2013 through January 18, 2013. We still aren't sure of our dining plans yet. Alot depends on whether our friends go, whether we get an AP and how much money we have after the holidays.

We are for sure doing the following: O'Hana dinner, Fultons for lunch (love the fish tacos) and Il Mulino.

Will update more later, and hope to get down some plans. Looking forward to my first time taking photos. My other reviews have been photo-less. I am also looking forward to updating LIVE!!

Ellen said, "Don't know what it is about this salad, but I really enjoy it. I love the peppers and the olives. And the dressing is so light and fresh."

Candice said, "I had the Cinnamon Chicken while Eric had the Fisherman's Stew. Eric didn't care for the food at all. I, on the other hand, kind of liked it. I say kind of because I liked the first few bites. After, it started tasting salty and the portion started looking too big. I did like the orzo that came with the chicken though. Very flavorful."

Candice said, "My favorite was the escargot. So garlicky and easy to eat. My husband's favorite was the rendang from Singapore. He's from Malaysia and said its pretty authentic and had a very nice kick to it.

We both hated the scallop. It was over cooked and the purée tasted weird." ​
