I agree GO AWAY SANDY! I hope everyone is able to fly safe and enjoy their vacation and everyone at home is prepared. DDW I hope you are prepared and that your mom in NY makes it through with no problems at all,
Thanks so much - I hope you also stay safe. Honestly, I don't feel too worried about myself here, but I definitely hope my mom will be okay by herself. And I can't imagine how people who live closer to the coast are feeling. :sad2:

I'm just getting caught up - sorry for my lack of updates. The spotty wi-fi ad AoA AND at the Dolphin (sending a complain for that because you actually have a fee for Internet at that hotel) combined with our commando touring resulted in my crashing as soon as I got in the room. Seriously, I don't know if I had too much planned or if I'm getting old, but I feel like I need a vacation to recover from our WDW weeks! :rotfl2: Kudos to all of you for your live reports! :thumbsup2

Challenge accepted! I am pretty sure we will be eating at several of those CS places and will be getting quite a few of the snacks!! I am hoping we get there when expected...we are East Coast and flying out of Newark...which is to be hit pretty hard by Sandy! :sad2: So......can I get a big loud collective "GO AWAY SANDY!!!!!!!" please?

GO AWAY SANDY!!!!!

Seriously, though - I hope you're able to travel safely (and on time). Even though the storm should be gone by Wednesday, I wonder how bad the flooding and debris will be afterwards (plus, how do airlines deal with all the people whose flights are cancelled tomorrow and Tuesday?). This storm is so frustrating - I just hope the damage won't be that bad. :worried:

On a more cheerful note, that caramel apple is so cool! Mickey, on the other hand, needs to have some work done. And I'm definitely in the mood for some Starbucks now - too bad it'll be closed until Wednesday. Where will I get my caffeine fix until then? :bitelip:

My thoughts and prayers are with all you Northeasterners this morning. Keep us posted please, if you are able. :worried:

Hi Stephanie...welcome back to the DIS! :wave2: I can't wait to hear all about your two weeks at Disney World! :thumbsup2

Great reviews from everyone! Eilee will be thrilled that there is steak at a Liberty Inn! The Fantasmic dessert snack box looks wonderful and it was great to see some Brenda/Linda photos. :cool1:

And Barb, if you talk to chocolateminnie, tell her I said hi!!

I spoke to the United several times over the past few days. I also have a friend that is a flight attendant. They have cancelled all flights Monday and Tuesday...Wednesday is still scheduled as of now. The people from Monday and Tuesday will be on stand by until they can get on a flight or just cancel and get refunded. We have hard tickets so they can't take our seats if our flights goes as scheduled. But, we could face very long delays at the airport. We have booked a rental car (because our cars are too small for that length of trip) from Newark to Orlando as a back up plan. If it is safe to drive but the flights are cancelled or backed up, we will just head out that way then fly home to Newark. It is all very frustrating. I need to get as much accomplished today that requires power as our power company sent out e-mails and pre-recorded messages to expect outages lasting up to 7 days. I am almost all packed and can finish that in the dark. LOL I need to clean, bathe the dog. Thanks for the well wishes! Keeping our fingers crossed! Kids are home...school cancelled until at least Wednesday. So, we are pretty determined to still get there one way or another.

Barb - I will try to keep checking in and update you prior to Wed...not too much to get off track but just to inform you. Also, when we know exactly what we are doing, I will let you know and keep you in the loop from there!!!

Same here... Be safe everyone! I'm in Massachusetts, and so far lots of wind and some rain. All my town offices are closed, which means a day off for me as I am a librarian in my home town. Hopefully my poor doggie will sleep through most of this, otherwise he'll be a panic-stricken wild man the whole time.

It sounds like you have things well under control. Thanks for keeping me updated! :thumbsup2

I've just received 2 more Disneyland updates from Linda and Nikki's last two Disney World updates, as she is on her way to the airport now on the ME bus. I would normally wait until later to post these since we have wi-fi at home, which is must faster than the internet we have here at the office. But I'm going to go ahead and try to post these now for all of you who are stuck in your homes waiting out the storm. I hope you remain safe, sound and with electrical power! :thumbsup2

So stay tuned for some live updates! ;)

Continuing on the West Coast with our Live Disneyland reporter, Linda67.

Linda said, "First the bread service which I had to ask for as I was starving and they didn't bring me any. It was sour dough and was a little stale to be honest." :worried:

Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad

Linda said, "For my appetiser I had the roasted beet and goat cheese salad - there was a mix up initially and the brought me the wrong starter but we got there in the end. It was heavenly! :cloud9: The dressing was excellent and the little fried goats cheese was gooey and creamy."

photo7-1.jpg

Swordfish with a red pepper sauce

Linda said, "This was sensational, the sauce was wonderful and flavourful." :thumbsup2

Linda added, "Very patchy service at this restaurant. I have never seen so many unhappy looking servers in my life! :worried: But despite the not so great service, Carthay Circle redeemed itself with truly excellent food. :thumbsup2
I decided against dessert so paid my bill and headed back into the park."

"By the way Barb, this restaurant is in DCA and I did this meal in order to get reserved space at the World Of Color show (which was absolutely incredible!)" :worship:

Grilled Cinnamon-Spiced Oatmeal Cakes
Served with Island Fruit Compote and Greek Yogurt

Linda said, "Oh my word, why did I wait until my last day at the Disneyland Hotel to eat breakfast here??? These were just wonderful, the fruit compote was delicious and the cakes had a subtle taste of cinnamon and I loved them!" :cloud9:

Note from jabead: I'm waiting for confirmation from Linda that this is her last update of her trip. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from her. :thumbsup2

And so on behalf of everyone here...

Thank you so much for a job well done, Nikki!!! :thanks:

and

Safe travels home to Syracuse, NY today! :goodvibes

So we are pretty well covered for the next 2 weeks, however if there is anyone who would like to join our team, please don't hesitate to do so. My policy is that there is always room for a few more. :thumbsup2

Also, we can definitely use more Live Reporters beginning Nov. 13th and for the remainder of the month, plus the first week of December. And speaking of December, while the second week (Dec. 9 - 15) looks good, we could still use a few more reporters during the last two weeks of the month. Oh, and January trippers...my recruitment of you will begin very soon! ;)

I am still on board for Nov. 16-21! I LOVE the live scavenger hunt - so much fun! I'll give it my best shot!! :D

Soooo....in other news, my sister is finishing up her DCP, and my little bro and I have decided to pay her another visit during our Christmas vacation. It will be our first ever siblings-only trip! We'll be heading back to Disney on Dec. 15-21. Little bro thinks we're staying at CBR, but I've actually changed our ressie to BWI with a possible split stay at Contemp.

He's elected himself official navigator for our roadtrip. :drive: I am kinda excited to see his face when I abruptly stop listening to his driving directions, act like I am totally lost, and tell him that we'll just need to "turn around in the Boardwalk parking lot." :rotfl:

ALL that to say...Jabead, if you're needing more live reporters for that week in December - we'd be happy to volunteer! :)
