The photos make the opening of the ride vehicle and seats look small. Can heavier people easily board and ride?

Not comfortable at all! It's doable-I tried the ride once-but it was painful enough that I will not ride again. The lap bar totally crushes your legs.

I agree on the lack of comfort and I am not all that large and still have trouble with the seat being very narrow.

I found it to lack space for my feet, but I had my camera bag with me when I really noticed it, and had to hold onto the bag on my lap because it wouldn't fit. I thought the lack of leg/foot room would be an issue for my Dad, who has bad knees, but he fit in fine. Definitly not the most comfortable seat out there, but nothing too awful!

I had no problem with it. I thought DH would.....6' 4" and 280, but he was fine.

I am 5'3" and a size 12-14 depending on the brand, and it was a very tight fit for *me*. The lap bar crushed into me on both rides. I had a small camera backpack (1/2 the size of a regular backpack easily), and it barely fit by my feet. We saw larger guests on it as well, so it's doable...but if you can leave anything you're carrying somewhere (a locker, with a stroller w/no valuables, etc) - I definitely would. DH is taller than I am, and he was also uncomfortable.

We enjoyed the ride...it's worth riding, but space is definitely very very tight.

My FIL who is 6 ft probably 300-350 with bad knees could not fit. He wasn't able to ride.

PP is one of the few I've heard of who couldn't ride at all, but it seems like the "discomfort" comment starts at a very average size. My group contained me (5'9" and overweight, size 22) brother (6'3" and trim) dad (6'3" and somewhat heavy at 260) and sister (5'5" size 16) and a bunch of kids. Only the kids had no comment about discomfort - everyone else found it at least somewhat uncomfortable. I was most concerned because although Disney is extremely size-friendly compared to other parks, I had heard bad things about this ride. The u-shaped lap bar did squeeze on my thighs, but I had no concerns that it wouldn't pull down or lock. I rode once next to a stranger (always a concern for me - I dont want to infringe their space) but wasn't touching or crowding them at all.

I'm 4'11 and 220lbs so I'm very poohsized but it wasn't uncomfortable for me at all. I wasn't squished or anything. However I also carry most of my weight in my upper body/stomach area. I could see if someone has fairly large thighs/legs that they would be smushed together by the u shaped restraint. So I guess it really all depends on how you're weight is distributed.

One warning - they will seat you with a stranger if you are in an odd-numbered group! I was odd woman out on our last trip (let my younger daughter ride with her cousin) and found it uncomfortable to sit next to a larger gentleman. He was appropriate, don't get me wrong, but it was summer, and I really didn't want to have my body touching his body during the ride. It was hot, everyone was sweaty, and he was a stranger. Just unpleasant all around - I'm sure he didn't think it was so great sitting next to me either. CM gave me attitude when I expressed my surprise having the man load in with me - those seats are small and there's no personal space at all, unless you are a little kid!

Thanks for reviews. We will be going in December. Now I can give my tall DH advance warning on the leg room.

I just noticed my knees pushed together. The lady next to me said, "This feels like the middle seat on an airplane."

So would a 250lb 6'7 man be able to fit? Lol im just trying to imagine my dad in this and it's not going to well in my head

I'm sorry that the ride is uncomfortable for larger guests: maybe with enough feedback they can expand the ride to make it accommodating for all guests to enjoy the attraction.

My dad is 6'3-6'4" and 260ish, not at all flexible and expressed the same comments as many that it's tight or not comfortable, but it didn't keep him from riding or from saying he liked the ride.

They would have to completely remake the ride vehicle. The seats are too close side by side and too close front to back. And I truly did not see why they had to make them SO small. I'm 5'3", not overweight now, and I felt it was really close. I mourned the fact that DH will likely never be able to ride it.

The biggest thing your DH needs to worry is not squishing the tenders. Advice from my DH to all guys - step in, lift, sit down.

It really depends on body dimensions and personal comfort level.

When we rode I was 5'6" 200, weight evenly dispersed, torso/leg ratio leans to longer legs. DH was 6" 250, most extra weight on his stomach/torso, torso/leg ratio is pretty even. We were both tight but not uncomfortable. Uncomfortable to us means mild pain, like "these shoes are uncomfortable and gave me blisters."

I really think they need a test car.
