Come on AP Rates!!!

In reference to the person who said she got disconnected from her call and asked "couldn't they have called me back" The answer is "no" Having worked in a call center myself, you only have the capability of getting incoming calls. You can not place outgoing calls. So when your line goes blank, You just get the next person on your line who has been on hold. Hope that clears it up some. :)

Thank you! That no Fri/St discount is a killer. Availability public discount vs AP is weird this time around.

Note what I added to my prev post about AKL. Also, there was a previous post about someone trying to get rates that had Fri/Sat listed as not discounted, and they did end up discounted. I would call WDW and see what they say.

I guess that's true for some call centers but one time I was ordering vitamins from Swanson and they had a fire. It was in the middle of my order and they did call me back in a few hours and continued where they left off. I was very surprised that they did this but happy since I was amost finished ordering my items. I guess it all depends.

I called and got through quickly and the CM I had was very nice. :goodvibes Anyways, after checking about I went with the YC. Best discount under the AP for my dates. I am excited to go at Christmas!! I have never been then. Hope the YC is nice (I have been to the BC).

I lucked out on this!

Yesterday I called to add the general discount to my room reservation but was disconnected in the middle of the call. I decided I'd just call back today.

Well I saw the AP rates were out before I made my call today so instead of getting the 25% discount I got the 30% discount! Overall about a $300 saving off of the rack rate and probably a $50 savings over the general public discount. :thumbsup2

Here's what I got...

I already had a trip booked for Sept.30-Oct.5, GF garden view, with dining added, no tickets.
I had the AP rate for Sept.30-Oct.2 and no discount for the last 2 nights.

This morning I had to make the last 2 nights into a separate reservation to get the AP discount, no tickets w/dining.

I saved $360.00. :thumbsup2

Although I have 2 reservations, I think the savings is worth it.

For anyone who has done this in the past, do they "reload" our KTTW with the dining plan the morning of the change, or can it be done automatically?:confused3

Thanks for the answers. I am on my fourth phone call now and the CM said that most reps do not have the ability to call out at all and just automatically get the next call. My point though is if I wouldn't have been disconnected I would have everything done and now there is no availability.

That was me who posted about AKL. Basically, the very first time I looked (early this morning), the only room that showed with any discount at all was Savannah View Bunk Beds...that had the 30% off for all 10 nights. Then I looked again later, and several room choices showed up, but they all had rack rate for weekends and 30% off on weekdays. My TA called to see if she could get us Savannah View, and at first was quoted the same mixed price I saw online. However, when the CM couldn't get the reservation booked, a supervisor stepped in and booked the Savannah View for 30% off all 10 nights. At least, that's what my TA says. In the end, we're opting for 42% off on YC Water View, but that's how it all went. I guess it never hurts to call.

This happened to us during the same timeframe in 2008. We had the 2 days before free dining and APs. We did have to check out and back in but didn't have dining until the 3rd day. We did get new cards. It was a similar thing 2 codes=2 reservations. We also were lucky and didn't have to change rooms. I assume it's still the same but I'm not sure. We almost were going to have a similar issue in Nov. We have res. for Nov 28-Dec 4 on a bounceback We didn't have the 27th booked since it wasn't in the bounceback date but the other day when the GP rates came out we were going to book the 1 night (30%-we have 35% off) Well, now that AP rates are the same as bounce back, we will just rebook since it's the same discount as what we have and available. HOpe this helps.

You would think they have caller ID and could call back under those circumstances. I would keep trying for availablilty since more may come up. Is anything avail online? I would check and see and make the res. there if possible.

I had two ressies I had already booked last Dec using the bounceback offer for this Oct and Dec. I was able to switch my Oct 9th-17th bounceback deal for the AP deal, which means they are giving me a $168.28 credit back to my credit card (the price of the one day tickets I had to buy in order to get dining with the bounceback):cool1:.

However, for my Dec 4th-12th trip at CSR there were no moderates available except CBR, which I don't want to stay at, since we'll be there in Oct. I can either keep what I've got at CSR and be stuck with another one day ticket to add to my ever growing collection, or do a split stay at CSR and either AKL, BW, or YC. My other option is five nights at CSR and then three nights over at Universal. I was going to go over there anyway for a couple days, but planned to stay at CSR. I don't know what to do now. A split at at CSR and either AKL or YC or BW would be about $230.00 more than I'm spending now with four nights at AKL in a pool view or three nights at YC or BW in a standard view. I could spend the last three days of my trip over at Universal , but would not have the DxDDP I would have at the Disney resorts.

can you change your dates to Dec.5-112th?
POFQ has AP discounts avail. for the 5th!

the discount is not avail. for weekend nights, but still was able to save $300!

Thanks for the answer! Sorry to keep on, I just want to make sure I understand.
So, IF we can keep the same room, I can check-out and check-in before my family even wakes up that day, right?
I do need to make sure we have used up all of our dining credits from the previous reservation, since they would not all be "pooled" together. (No saving up snacks for a last day of dolewhips.;))

Hi Everyone, :)

I am hoping someone here can help me with this. I am trying to get a Tables In Wonderland pass for our upcoming trip. I have my AP voucher and have access to Pass holder’s info on the DW.com site. I have tried calling TIW twice today at (3:30 PM and 4:10 PM ET)at the phone number listed here on the DIS. However, all I get is a recorded message saying to hold on for a operator, then it recycles back through the whole message I already heard of office times, (they are open until 5:00 PM ET) and how you can fill out paperwork on the pass holders site and fax it to them or go to locations at WDW to pick up a TIW pass. Then it says GOODBYE and hangs-up :confused3 I know this is a AP code thread, we all have been helping each other over the past few weeks in different things and supporting our mutual love of WDW. Hopefully no one will be upset by my question.

I would like to order over the phone and have it mailed to me. However, so far I am not getting a human to talk to about this. Anyone have any idea what I need to do? :confused3

Thank you very much in advance.

AP rate didn't help me. BC did not have standard rooms available so I could either spend $300 more and use AP for a water view or keep BB rate, this trip is a stretch so we are sticking with BB.

hope others got their AP savings

You are best to just get the TIW upon arrival. You can get it when you exchange your voucher and that's the best way to get it since it is dated from date of purchase. They do kind of give you more than a year on the TIW as well just to let you know. We got ours on Feb 5 th of this year when we purchased are APs. The TIW card expires on March 31, 2011 almost 2 months after the AP. Anyway it serves no purpose to get it beforehand since you have to go exchange the voucher anyway. I think many years ago you did have to get these cards beforehand that's the reason for the longer than a year expiration date, but you can get it at any guest relations.

Thank you Disneyfan, I guess that is what we will do. I wanted it before we went because I won the stay at the Grand Floridian including Park Hopper tickets for the four of us. :cheer2::yay: So I wasn't going to activate my AP until our GF part of the trip was finished. However the free trip does not include dinning so I thought we would use the TIW.

Thank you for your help.

Not sure about anyone else, but I was very disappointed that Disney released GP rates before AP. I wasn't able to use AP rates due to Fri night inclusion in my ressie and no standard rooms avail- feel like I waited so long for nothing much....wanted 2 nights at stnd room in Yacht and now staying Poly CL- before I knew what I was doing on the phone, I found myself upselling to cl because the price diff wasnt that much between water view YC(only rooms avail with discnt) and Poly CL.....What a dope- now I am spending over $200 more then I planned....:rotfl:

I am checking prices for a quick trip in October. We want to stay at a mod, so CB AP rate $117.00, Friday, Sat and Sunday and Monday at $110.50. A significant savings over rack rate. But when I checked the rates at PORiverside, the rates for Friday, Sat and Sunday were rack rates of $180.00. The discount only applied to Monday. Has anyone else experiencing this or could it be a mistake? :confused3

We would really like to stay at PO, but we will stay at CB for the better rate.
