I got a price online just for the heck of it couple of minutes ago. We were considering going early march. But couldnt believe how much it was going to cost. We received 3000 gift, of which 1000 was supposed to be banked. My quote in the past had been around 2800(not preferred location, including dining) i think. Now ticket price hike for four should have added what 60 to the quote? So I get the quote and it is about 2200(preferred location, including dining). And with points from disney visa that would be only travel expenses out of pocket (we drive and have maybe one meal on the road). I got so excited. Started to call and put see about the 14 day hold i keep reading about. Suddenly the lightbulb goes off oh yeah I forgot the kids. Boom now my quote is 2900. Oh well. I'll keep watching. Cant immagine any deal that would get the trip into affordibility.

:rotfl2: that kinda happen to me i went to disney site for wl for myself dh dd and ds and got a quote for jul2-8 for ~2100 and thought how great. looked closer and forgot to add me. THOUGHT I HIT THE JACKPOT!!! :rotfl2:

Check into renting DVC points. Probally $550 to $600 Sunday thru Thursday 5 nights. With tickets and dining on your own you could probally keep it under $2000. :Pinkbounc

I saved a bundle by booking everything separately. Just book the hotel through Disney reservations (keep asking about ANY discounts, better prices, other options, etc., and call several times before making a decision.) Buy your tickets through Ticketmania.com (it doesn't look cheaper, but it is once you add Disney's tax and delivery charges). You don't get dining this way, but we saved alot by NOT eating so much!! (We also used all our accumulated Disney Dollars on our Disney Visa toward food, so it was like getting free food.) In the end, my price was WAY less than Disney's quote for our family.

I thought about doing everything seperate but i wasn't sure if it would be a good deal?? I'll check it out because right now for me dh dd and ds for jul2-8 wl woods view and dining is ~3200.

I have never taken a plan in all of 33 trips. I always call CRO, make our reservations, buy our tickets on site and eat where we want when we want. When our kids were still with us we did the same. The size of disney meals are huge and 2 children can easily share one meal, we were brought up on, " take all you want but eat all you take" parents and our kids did likewise.

Now since its just me and the wife, we still book our room, either with AP's, AAA discount and buy tickets accordingly and dine the same. But for us, meals are just as big now as 30 years ago and we share one dish. We're not cheap but a hamburger platter cut in half is just right for us. Snacking around the parks is fine for us, we're not stuffed and still can only eat 2 meals usually a day. Now thats a sit down breakfast and dinner. The dining plan never seemed like a bargin to us, way more than you need at a high cost.

That is something to think about it will be me dh dd10 and ds6 and we were thinking about getting the dining plan still debating
