This is my experience with the "come back" program (they called it "bounce back" program on the phone though- not sure why).
I did not get a card on my door- but I remembered reading about it on this board. I thought I had wrote down the code to use- but I forgot to bring it along.
So I called the front desk and asked about it- who then connected me to reservations (therefore no charge for the call) and asked them about it. They asked me for a code, and I said I did not have a code but wanted to do the program anyways.
She put me on hold (I'm not sure why- either to ask if I could do it without the code or perhaps to check out how long I was staying in the hotel to meet the minimum nights or something) and when she came back- we started booking the reservations.
Like a DOOF, I did not ask about other resorts. I didn't figure they'd be THAT great on the prices and wanted to go as cheaply as possible. (I see now from this thread that it might have been a good idea to check out rates at other resorts, but hindsight is 20/20 ofcourse)
I am booked for 9 nights at ASMu for $536.40 (preferred building). Which averages to $59.64 per night for preferred building.
This works out to cheaper than the AP rate I had used for that stay (so btw, that means even if you aren't staying rack rate at the time- you can still do the come back thing) because that was $55 with tax NON preferred building. So basically I got AP rate but only paying half the daily rate for preferred building. So it obviously is a better rate than just the AP rate.
I was told on the phone that I had 14 days to pay $200 deposit. And full pymt had to be made by 45 days prior to the reservation. So apparently I was booking it through WTDC or whatever that is called- instead of CRO? I was also told that I COULD change the dates at a later date, up to the 45 days prior and that it would only change the price of the room for the amount of days I took off or added. She explained to me that meant if I took off a day- it would be cheaper.. if I added a day, it would cost more. Which really didn't have to be explained (LOL) but it was nice of her to explain it that way to me because it let me know I wouldn't be charged a changing fee. I did ask about that though- and she said any changes made before 45 days prior to arrival date would not have a penalty fee at all.
I hope this helps the OP who asked about this or anyone else with questions. I just wish now that I had explored rates at other resorts since it sounds like there were incredible deals to be made there also.
