Come Back Rates?

PookaJean,

It is a local call from your room so it costs 75 cents for the call.

Carole

We were at the Poly in Dec. and staying with an AP rate and we did get the come back card. Maybe so many people took advantage that they needed to hold back a bit. Its a great way to get you back!

FYI: I found out today that only certain resorts has this offer available. I stayed at the Contemporary and the come back rate was not available for that resort.

It may not be available for future stays, but I was staying at the Contemporary when I called and used the "come back" offer.

Were you able to book another resort? I hope so...it's a great deal!

We were staying at the Polynesian and I called to reserve at the Poly for July. After coming home, I called to make my deposit and switched over to a 2 bedroom at Beach Club Villas. We got a great rate! Well worth the call.

Good luck!

I am correct in that you booked a room while you were there and then, after you came home, you called them and modified it....can I ask if you just changed the resort or the resort and the days....I am wondering as I have booked with this code when I was there a few weeks ago and am thinking of changing my dates.

Thanks

Not that 75 cents is going to break the bank :) but I believe if you call the Front Desk they will transfer you (for free) to CRO.

TNMomof3,

When was your stay at the Contemporary? Also, did the resort notify you of the "come back rate" special or did you find out from some other means? When I called the Contemporary resort today (at the advice of CRO), they informed me that the "come back rate" special was not available for people who stayed at the Contemporary resort. If I was miss informed, I would really like to know. My family is planning on going back to Disney this summer and would love to get the same great rate (or similar) that we received on our previous stay.

Thanks

vellamint ... I changed the resort, not the dates. It pays to "try again". The first time I requested to change resorts, after being put on hold for 18 minutes, I was told I couldn't change. When I called with deposit, the CM said that based on availability, change was not a problem!

It pays to ask.

Good luck!

LUVUTIGGER2,

I stayed at the CR Jan. 16-20, 2003. I was not notified by the resort about the come back rate. I had heard about it prior to my trip, and printed the information off of mousesavers and took it with me. I called CRO from the phone in my room on January 19th, and booked a return visit for May. All that the CM at CRO needed to know was my current reservation #. I guess that let them know that I was indeed staying on property at WDW, and met the requirement of a minimum 3 night stay.

My guess is that they are only putting fliers on certain rooms at certain resorts at various times. I don't necessarily think it is something that is brought to the attention of every resort guest during this period, but there is nothing in the small print that says you can't use it if you are at WDW during the applicable times, and staying the minimum time.

I hope this helps. :D

we had a come back tag on our door at the polynesian
we had lagoon veiw concierge @ 340 AP rate.i called for the
come back rate and booked nov28th 2003 for 7 nights at poly lagoon veiw concierge for 314.43 with tax i havent seen a rate better than that! also i asked if you can modify the reservation
and was told yes

We are heading down for a 3-day stay tonight...and we will SOOOO be taking advantage of this offer!!!!! Now I just can't decide if we should go for early Nov (Food and wine fest...) or early Dec (lowest crowds).............

TNMomof3,

Thanks for the information. I may try to give the resort a call again to see if I can get the "come back rate". I more than met the requirements for the special since I was there for 11 nights. The worst they can tell me is no or sorry it's too late.

Thanks again.

This is my experience with the "come back" program (they called it "bounce back" program on the phone though- not sure why).

I did not get a card on my door- but I remembered reading about it on this board. I thought I had wrote down the code to use- but I forgot to bring it along. :(

So I called the front desk and asked about it- who then connected me to reservations (therefore no charge for the call) and asked them about it. They asked me for a code, and I said I did not have a code but wanted to do the program anyways.

She put me on hold (I'm not sure why- either to ask if I could do it without the code or perhaps to check out how long I was staying in the hotel to meet the minimum nights or something) and when she came back- we started booking the reservations.

Like a DOOF, I did not ask about other resorts. I didn't figure they'd be THAT great on the prices and wanted to go as cheaply as possible. (I see now from this thread that it might have been a good idea to check out rates at other resorts, but hindsight is 20/20 ofcourse)

I am booked for 9 nights at ASMu for $536.40 (preferred building). Which averages to $59.64 per night for preferred building.

This works out to cheaper than the AP rate I had used for that stay (so btw, that means even if you aren't staying rack rate at the time- you can still do the come back thing) because that was $55 with tax NON preferred building. So basically I got AP rate but only paying half the daily rate for preferred building. So it obviously is a better rate than just the AP rate.

I was told on the phone that I had 14 days to pay $200 deposit. And full pymt had to be made by 45 days prior to the reservation. So apparently I was booking it through WTDC or whatever that is called- instead of CRO? I was also told that I COULD change the dates at a later date, up to the 45 days prior and that it would only change the price of the room for the amount of days I took off or added. She explained to me that meant if I took off a day- it would be cheaper.. if I added a day, it would cost more. Which really didn't have to be explained (LOL) but it was nice of her to explain it that way to me because it let me know I wouldn't be charged a changing fee. I did ask about that though- and she said any changes made before 45 days prior to arrival date would not have a penalty fee at all.

I hope this helps the OP who asked about this or anyone else with questions. I just wish now that I had explored rates at other resorts since it sounds like there were incredible deals to be made there also. :(

I just returned from CSR , where we were staying with an AP rate, and booked the come back rate for WL 12/5-10/03. Woods view rate was $148/night, tax included. I'm very pleased to have this rate since I'm never sure if there will be AP rates in December.

I am surprised that they made it through the travel agency - I booked POR and ASMO from BC and also called the operator who put me through (therefore no charge) but I asked for CRO? Maybe you didnt specify CRO?.....anyway my confirmation shows the regular deposit of 1 night with nothing else due.

Thanks for the information about changing dates - I may need to...and I also wondered about inquiring about other resorts.....I should of checked a few deluxes!!!!!

We also got the card on our door a couple of weeks ago while staying at ASMovies (with an AP rate). We're not sure if we're going back at the end of this year or the beginning of next, but now that I think of it I should have just booked it for the end of this year with the discount and decided whether to keep it or change it later on!

Oh well... now I'll just "have" to get another AP so that we'll get the AP discounts :D
