Okay .. yes I am Canadian ... but I live on the "right coast" so I'm not familiar with Rockies weather. We get snow and freezing rain in February ... but what should I expect in a Denver to Jefferson Co February Drive?

It really just depends on the day! It may be bright and sunny that day, or we may get a foot of snow. Chances are, it will be bright and sunny. We really do not have many snow days in Denver. It's the mountains that gets hit hardest. I would just suggest checking the forecast 2-1 days prior. They have a hard time predicting the weather as it comes over the Rockies.

Of course the most dangerous time of the day is the rush-hours when everyone is trying to sneak in and out,Winter is a hazardous season for most Northern states such as Maryland, Maine, Montana, Colorado, Minnesota, N. Dakota, Idaho, Wyoming, and Michigan,This way the number of car accidents grows as it gets colder and colder.

I'm not sure CO should be lumped in with those other states. We do get a few big storms, but the snow doesn't hang around down here like it does up there.

And no, we really don't get freezing rain or those horrible ice storms. Sometimes we get a huge snow storm, but the changes are very good you will not run into bad weather. Just be prepared and know what the forecast is because storms can move in quickly.

As Brenda said it can be sunny and 60 degrees or you could see some snow. Most storms in the Denver metro area are pretty mild so I would expect the driving to be okay.

Even when we get snow, it's usually dealt with pretty quickly and the roads are drivable not too long after the storm starts to subside. If you have a car with good tires and you are familiar at all with driving on plowed/salted/sanded/etc. roads, you should be okay. There's a good chance there wouldn't be snow that day anyway. The weather here does include snow for a fairly large portion of the year, but it's intermittent at worst and the city and outlying areas are rarely untravelable.

I am not sure you can lump Maryland in either, we are in the mid-atlantic states (I live in DE), not northern. With the exception of this past year, :scared1:, we don't get nearly the type of weather with the northern states.
