Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I looked at the names and it was nobody I knew, but I am definitely calling my friend who works there to get more gossip. :thumbsup2

We got an email from Elitch's yesterday with a deal on season passes for 2009. I think we paid $55 each this year and, if we act now and buy at least 4, we can get them for next year at only $75 each. :scared1:

In this economy, I think that price jump is going to be a hard sell...

You're kidding!!! $20 MORE?! Some great incentive for current passholders. I haven't received that e-mail. Maybe they know I'll just sit there and laugh my butt off at them!

Hi all, we are contemplating a move to the Denver area. I have been looking at a lot of different areas and people have been helpful in that, thank you!

I have a few other questions though if you dont mind.

What is the BEST thing about living in Co?

What type of shopping (grocery and other) are your favourites?

Do you know of any IB charter schools? That is what my ds is in here and we would love to continue with it.

Thanks so much!

Robin

Good morning all. We are finally taking our trip to the Springs this weekend. DH has a interview on Friday. My kids and I are so hoping that he gets the job and that we can move to Colorado. I plan on seeing some of the sights while we are there! Anything not to miss?

Robin-

Best thing about living in CO is the mountains! Seriously, it's the fact we have first class arts, restaurants, entertainment in an enviroment that we also see and do things outdoors.

My favorite shopping is done at Bowles & Wadsworth....EVERYTHING is there...Super Target, Sunflower Market, Southwest Plaza (mall).

Our IB schools aren't neccesarily charter schools.....Littleton Public Schools (and other districts) have IB schools in their "regular" system. We have an IB elementary, middle and high school (I am partial to Littleton High School...because it's where I graduated from).

Ask any other questions you might have!!

We love Cheyenne Mtn Zoo, Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods.

I am bringing the kids. They have a fair day off on Monday, so evertyhing worked out perfectly for us to up and take a nice long weekend.

Definitely do the zoo then. My girls liked the Olympic Training Center, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak. If you have younger kids Santa's Workshop is fun (but expensive).

So many fun things to do in Colorado Springs....enjoy your weekend and good luck to your husband!!:thumbsup2

Thank you! I love the IB program that he is in now so its good to know he can continue. Technically they are an IB candidate school so they have to go by the name "International school of business and economics"
Its a great education nonetheless and he has really taken to it.

The mountains would be great to be near again. I really miss them here in Boise. We have foothills that you can see from here but they are all brown and very depressing in the winter. I miss looking up and seeing mountains.

I think it would be great to be there in Denver we are really praying that it works out!

Thanks for the great info~ :)

Agree that the zoo's great (see if you can get a Buy 1 Get 1 free coupon -- available from the entertainment book). Other places I'd suggest: Garden of the Gods, Olympic Center, Air Force Academy visitor center, cog railway (one of our faves).

I'm in the Springs, PM me if you have any specific questions!

I love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo because you can feed the giraffes.

I went to the Sunflower Market for the first time this weekend. I fell in LOVE with that place.

ahhhhhhhh i see what they are doing. I am getting it cheaper because I am 2008 holder...you are paying $75 now and will get rerst of 08 and then all 09. so reg price will be the price indicated in my email, but yours is for rest of 08 and then all 09, where as I dont need rest of 08 since I am already pass holder.

price next year looks to be staying the same then
