Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

Hope - that is great news!!!!

Fizz - that sounds like a lot of fun. I will have to try and talk my DH into going, but I think it would be a blast.

I love the new pictures in your signature! Are you still getting a kick out of writing "DH"? :)

Just remember Dragon Boat will be a blast... as in a "blast furnace"!!! What is it about that weekend that means we get horrific heat???

It looks like my first race is around 9 am Saturday and then I'm done for the day. DH races shortly afterwards, then has to wait around until 4 pm to do his second race. We come back Sunday to race some more.

Hope everyone has a lovely day! :hippie:

Fizzgig, it looks like so much fun! We are never available for anything on weekends. We are heavy campers.

Heidi, I think this is the first "DH" I have seen from you. :)

We went up to Boulder yesterday for some family pictures. The weather was so threatening up until he pulled into the parking lot. What luck!

Need help from all you Coloradoans regarding where we should go camping!!! Chris and I are wanting to go tent camping this weekend. We don't want to go to a campsite, we want to go somewhere where there isn't sites you have to use, no facilities, no neighbors, no electricity, no water, no reservations, etc. and that we can have a campfire. Chris was thinking about Deckers. Do you have any suggestions on where we can go? Have you heard anything about Deckers? HELP!!!

The Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival is this weekend at Sakura Square in downtown Denver. :thumbsup2 I don't have a website to refer you to, sorry!

What a beautiful weekend for camping. By that I mean, not too hot. We ran around all day yesterday in blue jeans. I just can't stand the heat of summer. I know I am a crazy one!

Those two things-no sites or facilities and campfires are pretty much mutaully exclusive-especially when the fire danger is as high as it is south of the palmer divide. Pretty much anywhere you go on forest service property you will get a ticket for being outside an improved campground-same on BLM land-and if you are on private property-you are trespassing.

Good morning. We ended up going by Buffalo Creek, we had a good time. The weather was perfect, there was quite a few people camping this weekend. Everywhere we went we saw tons of tents! Now we decided we want a tent trailer to pull behind us instead of always setting up the tent.

I have a question for all you Colorado people...we're heading to Beaver Creek/Vail area from Chicago tomorrow! So excited, except that I checked the weather forecast and it has chance of isolated thunderstorms each day we're there practically. Can someone reassure me that it won't rain 24x7 while I'm there for the next week? Are the storms more of a florida afternoon rain, or is it more steady rain?

When I watched the news last night, they said the only real possibility of rain is on Thursday, 4th of July weekend is suppose to be great weather. All last week they were calling for rain and it didn't rain once at my house. Don't worry if it rains it won't be an all day thing just in the afternoon, if it all. You will be okay and have a great time.

IF it rains it won't be for long but as Pooh said the only day they are really predicting the rain is Thursday and that's three days away so it will change. :rotfl:

Thanks! Very reassuring. I don't mind an afternoon or day of rain, just was hoping it wouldn't be every day all day.
