Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

Hello!!!! Thanks for bumping the thread up Fizz!

Here are some pictures from our whitewater rafting trip last weekend. We went down Clear Creek. It was a blast.

I'm back!

took last week off of work for my daughters wedding. The wedding was very nearly perfect! I was so happy with the way it turned out. All the sweat and tears were worth the outcome!

Heidi-you are right the weather was so perfect for your wedding. It was such a nice wedding and you were so beautiful!

Jersy-Sandy pointed you out at Heidi reception to me and was going to introduce us. Time slipped away to fast so I never got the chance to say hello. Hopefully next time!

I am going to read everything I missed tomorrow. Had to catch up with work today.

I wanna go white water rafting again!!:thumbsup2

I am glad somebody bumped us Coloradoans back up.

Mickey-glad your daughter's wedding was practically perfect!!:goodvibes

I just figured that everyone was enjoying the nice CO weather! Heidi's rafting pictures are great. Makes me want to go.....not. What a nervous nellie I am!

She was either afraid you'd think I was cooler than her and you'd ditch her for me or she was afraid that after I got a couple of beers in me that I might get all handsy with you.

Headed out to go camping for the weekend. Everyone stay cool. Sounds like a scorcher of a weekend ahead. Ok, that is by my standards. Anything above 80 is HOT! lol

I wanted to come over here and post an update about DH's job situation. He has one!

So June 30th is DH's last day with his current company. As we've been getting closer and closer to that day, we've both been getting more and more nervous. Last week, he decided to go on an interview for a 3-month only contract position, since 3 month as a contractor would certainly pay more than unemployment.

On Friday, they decided they wanted him, and there was a small possibility that at the end of the contract they could take him on full time. The hourly rate worked out to be about $20 more an hour than what he gets paid now, so we were excited about the boost in pay, even though it was only guaranteed for the 3 months.

However, he had 2 interviews scheduled for today, so he wanted to go to those before officially accepting the 3-month contract. The interview this morning was a 3-month contract-to-hire position, but the money would only be a little bit more than what he makes now (so a bunch less than the 3-month contract) but with a greater potential to turn into something long term. DH talked back and forth with the recruiter, and the recruiter with this company, and I guess they REALLY wanted DH because they offered to in the first time in the company's history (they are a start-up) offer someone a full time position without being contract to hire, and the salary is 15% more than what he is currently making! But DH just got a raise with his current company last month, so from the day we moved up to CO it's almost 25% increase in pay! And since he won't start until July 7th, we get to keep the severance package. So our dream of having our own home within 12-18 months of moving up here is actually going to happen!

hopemax: :cool1:

Can everyone try to save a date for me? I'm participating in the Dragon Boat races the end of July, and I'd -looooove- to have my own cheering section! :rotfl: Don't you just WANT to come out and have some Royal tea with bobas and go shopping? I promise, the food is AWESOME! :thumbsup2

The website for the festival is http://cdbf.org/ and they're good people.

Oh my gosh, that festival looks like fun! Are you racing, or performing, or what Fizzgig? :cheer2:

Hopemax, Awesome news on the job situation for DH! Woo Hoo! :woohoo:

I'm racing in a boat. DH is racing in another, and his team is going DOWN.

:rotfl:

I've been wanting to go to the boat races...if we can make it you'll have your own cheering section.(Oldest gets back from NY Mission Trip on the 26th).

Hope, that is Great!!!! I know that is a relief off of your mind.
