Cold pancakes..

Like them or hate them?

DGD decided she was going to make pancakes for all of us for dinner tonight.. ("Breakfast Night"..)

Anyhow - even though I really like warm pancakes with a little butter and lots of maple syrup, they sit in my stomach like a lead ball!!

However, I have found if I eat them cold - with nothing on them - they don't seem to bother my stomach at all..

So - I'm sitting here eating a stack of pancakes as though I were eating cookies.. Taste pretty darn good too..

Anyone else eat them cold?

As a kid, whenever we had pancakes, my parents would leave the leftovers out on the table with a towel over them for the day. We were free to grab one to eat any time we wanted... I usually drizzled just a smidge of honey on them... YUM.

Add chocolate chips to them and they go fast in my house. Just like a muffin.

I don't like them cold, but both of my boys used to eat them as a cold snack on a day we'd had them warm for breakfast.

Glad you found them to agree with your stomach ! No cold pancakes here, love them warm with butter w/maple syrup or apple butter. However, my DH will eat them any way, shape or form!

She's especially going to love me next week.. It's the "Buy one, get one free" book sale at her school (LOL) and I always let her get as many books as she wants.. Can't think of a better investment..

Funny thing is that I can eat French toast (which I love!) with the butter and maple syrup and they sit just fine.. Pancakes though? My stomach will hurt until the next day if I eat them when they're warm.. Of course "cold" is better than none, right?
