I will drink whichever is available. We have Coke machines in the teacher's room at work, so I drink Diet Coke. When I buy 12 pks, I buy whichever is cheaper and many times it is neither Coke nor Pepsi. If I'm standing in a convenience store, I'll always choose Diet Pepsi, though. My second choice is Diet Squirt.

Back in the 70's WDW had the Coke and Pepsi test. You know the one they showed as commercials where you tasted 2 samples and chose the one you liked. They would then show you what you picked. I of course chose Coke. I wonder if they wanted to know which their guests preferred.

Hey as they commercial says "Coke is it" :thumbsup2

I was young when the "Pepsi challenge" came out and I remember being at the county Fair with my friend and we went through the line about 10 times. Neither of us ever got pop at home so it was a treat... and free! I don't remember which one we liked best, though.

When my kids whine about having a can I tell them "When I was a kid () I had to share one can of Sunkist orange pop with both of my sisters! We each took a sip and passed it on. You never knew if you'd ever get another sip or not!"

I prefer Coke but DH prefers Pepsi because Coke gives him gas. :confused3 I used to drink Dr. pepper and one day a coworker told me it was carbonated prune juice. I know it's not but now I can't drink it without thinking prune juice!

The fountain Coke at McD's is the best!

Neither. We don't drink soda any longer. Haven't had one in all of 2010. Feel great - haven't died. Lost 15 pounds (in addition to other healthy nutritional changes.)

In the past I preferred Coke but would drink Pepsi.

Don't drink them anymore but if I had a choice I would pick Coke.
1) hate Pepsi's new logo
2) not a fan of Jeff Gordon

We prefer Coke products over pepsi products. The Coke stuff has more "fizz" in it. A science teacher friend of mine explained why that is, I forget the exact reason, but we like the fizz. ;)

My hubby is a big coke fan. Thats all he will drink.

I drink cherry coke sometimes, but if I had to choose between any soda it would be cherry Dr Pepper.

My kids on the other hand don't drink much cola they perfer flavored soda.. my 3 year old loves Ginger Ale. She would rather have a glass of Ginger Ale instead of as she says "brown icky pop" anyday
My teenagers are really into the flavored sodas. My son loves grape soda, and my daughters would rather drink orange or strawberry soda.

I prefer Coke to Pepsi. I do prefer the taste. My Grandma always had Coke, exclusively, when we were little. On the survey, I will pick whichever is cheaper. That's just who I am.

Pepsi Throwback if I can find it (real sugar no HFCS) otherwise no soda.

For me, it's actually Dr. Pepper. If Dr. P isn't available, then I will go with Coke. I don't like Pepsi. DW laughs at me because I call Pepsi "Eww Pepsi." Pepsi tastes flat to me. If coke isn't available, then it's Iced Tea for me. Coke in a glass bottle, still the best IMO.

If given a choice I will always pick Diet Pepsi. At Disney if we drive we stop and pick up a stash of Diet Pepsi for the room. If we fly we have had it delivered before. In the parks when Diet Pepsi is not available we drink Diet Coke. If I have to drink Diet Coke I prefer it as a fountain drink instead of from the bottle. Actually I prefer all soda from the fountain - mostly because I really like ice. Years ago I preferred Diet Coke - then I worked at a place that only had Pepsi products in the soda machine so I switched allegience - now 20 years later - I'm definitely a Pepsi fan. That said - I love Tradewinds Sweet Tea.

Coke is my preference. I'll drink Pepsi if Coke is not available (at a restaurant or at someone else's home) but if I have a choice it's always Coke.

Diet Pepsi! I'm an addict. I only like water with my meals, though.

In high school and college, I worked at different restaurants that only served Coke. :sad2: I'd mix 3/4 diet coke with orange, Dr. Pepper and Coke filling up the rest. People thought I was crazy, but it killed the Diet Coke taste!

I drink Coca-Cola exclusively. If I go to a restaurant and order a Coke and they say "Is Pepsi Okay?" I say, "No, water with lime please".

I find Pepsi to be too sweet...and Coca-Cola has more carbonation.

Agreed! I don't drink soda often and I am to a point that I don't like it out of a can it needs to be out of a bottle or fountain.

My BEST Coke always comes from McDonald's (the perfect carbonation and syrup mixture).

My sister used to drink Dr. Pepper. She recently switched to Diet Dr. Pepper (you know how it is once you near 50!). When she goes out she likes to get a Dr. Pepper (or Mr. Pibb) Diet Coke mix.

Diet Coke or Diet Caffeine-free Coke ONLY. As another said, if I order a Coke and tehy ask if Pepsi is ok...I'll take iced tea or something else. :rotfl2: I'm sorry Pepsi-lovers but the few times I'd had Pepsi it leaves a dirt-like afertaste in my mouth. ick.:rolleyes1

I'm really surprised. I figured people were brand loyal regarding coke and pepsi. But I would not have of guessed that twice as many people drink coke.

I agree, very surprising. I'm not a brand loyal person really, I'll drink anything. Generally it's (overall brands) Pepsi over Coke, but I prefer Mountain Dew, then Pepsi, then regular Coke, then Dr Pepper/Pibb.

I'm not all that brand loyal (voted option 3). My family will drink either in a restaurant with no problem. However, I do not drink regular Coke or Pepsi, only diet. My husband only drinks diet soda as well. BOTH of them taste sickly sweet to me.

My absolute favorite soda in the world is Cherry Diet Pepsi...it's pretty much all I buy at the store unless there is a REALLY good sale on diet Coke. I have gotten my husband and several friends hooked on Cherry Diet Pepsi...love that stuff.

I can tell you that when Pepsi did their "Throwback" soda this past spring (it was Pepsi with REAL sugar, not High Fructose Corn Syrup) my kids LOVED it! They have never said a word about soda brands, coke vs pepsi, etc. before this. All of them kept saying how much better the soda tasted and asked if we could get this soda all the time. They were really dissapointed when I could no longer get it.

In Ireland, my brother and sister in law who drink regular Coke, kept commenting that the soda was so much better there than in the US when we went a few years ago. I thought they were crazy, but I only drink diet coke, so I didn't taste a difference. After we were back I read that both COke and Pepsi make soda with no High Fructose Corn Syrup for Europe and other countries that don't allow the HFCS in their countries. I had wondered if that's why my family loved the Coke so much in Ireland.

When my kids raved about the Pesi Throwback, I became convinced that HFCS tastes like chemicals compared to real sugar. It's a shame you can't buy it all the time.
