^^I just noticed you are celebrating a few things on your trip! We are celebrating our 25th wedding, DH's 60th b-day, and our son's college graduation. So we are on a similar trip - although we're ahead of you by some years! Hope you and your family have a blast!

Hahaha! That's actually from our 2015 trip. I just haven't updated my signature. We are going January 2017 because my DD is going into the DCP. We already had a trip planned, but we found out last week she was accepted into the program. We had to extend our trip by 6 days in order to take her and get her all settled in. So our 10 day trip has turned into a 16 day trip! I'm not complaining though!! Lol! I just REALLY need a good discount. Enjoy your celebration trip!!!

Can anyone remind me... If booking a Disney Visa deal, must I eventually put the full amount on my Disney Visa, or is it enough to just pay the deposit with my Disney Visa and pay the balance off later with another form of payment?

I am not seeing anything yet on the Chase Disney rewards website about a discount other than Aulani so far this morning.

The rumor is that it will be released tomorrow for Visa cardholders, not today.

Do you all know what / where you are going to book if discounts come out tomorrow? I am in semi - Panic mode (in a good way) because I can't decide. This is the first time I have ever tried to book a true Surprise trip for my kids (one where resorts, dining, FP will have to be totally booked before i tell them about it.) Normally my sons and I decide it all together.
I HOPE we can play with the discount dates online tomorrow because I have no idea if the RO or the SPD will be better (assuming that is what is released.)
Also, first of 3 DS heading to college this year, so I am thinking about budget. We usually stay on the monorail and DS18 wants to try YC. I would like to stay POFQ for price but we are so spoiled by usually being able to walk to a park that I am nervous about it. It will be ME that regrets it if I make the switch from Deluxe to Mod though. My kids won't complain. I enjoy the resort of POFQ. It is just the line for busses that I don't like. This will be the first trip in memory that it is not summer though, so I am thinking without the heat and summer crowds that the need for the afternoon break won't be there and lines won't be as bad..... ? Nervous. I LOVE the walk from CR to early mornings at MK, so I may hope for a super discount and book that. It IS nice to have that daybed. Poor Dh will be home working while I break the bank.

I have gone in January for like 4 continuous years, its a great time to go. It's not completely dead, but the lines are shorter. My boyfriend hates lines, and he doesn't mine them at all in January.

I'm also attempting a surprise trip, for me and my boyfriends 10 year anniversary, and it's the first time I'm paying for it alone. I'm hoping for a really good deal because I'd LOVE to be able to stay at Coronado (my bf loves it there), but because of budgeting, I may only be able to stay at a value. I also want everything to be booked before I tell him, so I'm looking for free dining! Or at least like discounted dining

The odds are pretty good that you will find no details on the Chase Disney rewards website...today, tomorrow and possibly ever. These things are not communicated well. The best place to find info is right here...and you may possibly get an email from Disney/Chase on it but some people never get the email and some get it days after the deal is actually released.

Good Luck on the surprise! It is stressful trying to plan it all without their input. CSR looks beautiful. I am thinking that without the heat we won't be at the resort as much anyway, so maybe a 'lesser' room won't bother either of us. I have NEVER gotten FD in all my years of going, so that would be super, although I am not hopeful.

Good luck with yours too! I got free dining a few years back and it was perfect. We stayed at an all star and I think total we only paid like $800 including flight. We were really lucky that year!

We have our reservations at OKW and it is always included as a resort in the discounts. If it isn't I will join you in the panic mode, as we love all the space OKW provides. But I will just work with the person on the phone (can't trust the online reservations, and that is just me!!) to find the best deal. Enjoy your trip.

I just had a thought: i need the option to change the last day of the trip after I give it to my boys for Christmas - in case my high schoolers have schedule conflict. (Less than 30 days before trip) Thus: I need to book Room only, right? And SPD would be a package, wouldnt it-- with stricter cancellation rules? So I guess I am hoping for a good Room % discount.

Yup...sometimes I'll get an email, but it's usually after I have already had my discount applied. A few days at least... It seems to be how it goes with Disney. I find most information out before they do an email or a press release of anything.

Come to think of it.... I have been a cardholder since 2008 and can't recall a single time they emailed me about a discount offer! Geesh!
