Code Watch for October 2008!

Our family of 3 went on our very first trip to WDW in October 06 during fall break, and also attended the MNSSHP. I booked the trip through a local travel agent, who offered the very same price the WDW web site offered. Sorry for probably an obvious question, but how do you find out about the discount codes? I know we just joined AAA, so that's an option. We would like to stay in POR again. I absolutely can't wait for another Disney trip!!! Thanks for any adivce.

We also went for our first trip in Oct 2006 and our next trip is Oct 3-11 2008. We got a code last Oct for 40% off our room. I found out about the code right here on the disboards in a Oct code watch thread. It came out in Aug. We are also hoping for a code for 08. We are staying at POR. but with 40% I would love to do a deluxe and really get my husband hooked. But Value or deluxe I am already hooked!

I'm subscribing too, this is our first family trip! DH and I haven't been since 2000 for our honeymoon! Now we are going with our 2 and 4 year old, and are shooting for October 2008! Checking out all moderate resorts, we haven't decided yet! (Leaning toward Port Orleans though) Fingers crossed, 40% off would be SO GREAT!

We book last minute because we moved our trip up. But we booked last week of August I think. For 9-30 through 10-06, and got free park tickets with park hopper, and water park. Six nights at AKL cost DH, DS2, and myself 1700K something for a standard room. We got a upgrade to savannah veiw, so I was thrilled. Not sure what other codes were out for those that booked earlier than me.

And if I get a code, can I still use it if I already have the rooms booked? We will be reserving 2 rooms. 7 adults and 1 child.

You can book resort rooms I think 2 years ahead. We booked our 4 rooms at ASMovies a few weeks ago for Oct 17-25, 2008. Yes, you can use a code anytime on rooms you've already booked, but you have to call CRO and hope there are rooms still available at your chosen resort that "qualify" for the code kwim? We decided to switch our already booked rooms reservations to a Disney-specific travel agent - that way, she will be able to book a whole lot faster than I can (and she'll probably know about the codes before me anyway LOL).

Hey, we'll be there for some of the same days - here's to great weather and an incredible code or free dining!

If I book through a AAA travel agent, will they know to get the codes and apply them? Or do the codes generally equal the AAA discount?

Yes, I know it's super early, but we're excited! We're hoping for some good discounts and/or free dining - we'll be staying at either All-Star Movies or Pop Century (it'll most probably be ASMovies, because the children in our group LOVE Buzz & Woody!).

We're booking 3 rooms (group of 11 - 7 adults, 4 children). Do you think having multiple rooms *may* make us eligible for a discount? I know 3 rooms isn't enough for a "group discount", but hey, here's hoping LOL

we are booking 3 rooms too.....probably movies.....buzz or woody building......5 adults 6 kids..........I am definitely hoping for some discount codes......Started planning this right after I got back from FREE DINING 9/14/07-9/23/07.......stayed at ALL STAR SPORTS....GREAT TIME....VERY HUMID AND HAD TWO DAYS WASHED OUT.....figured would not take the risk again on this vacation..........but would definitely do FREE DINING AGAIN in '09 if it is offered...........

We were unable to any kind of code at all for this trip. I was on the phone as they were opening and got thru without much of a wait and there were no rooms available at any value or moderate for our dates ( they were oct 5-14)
I checke daily sometimes more than once.

I booked next years trip with the free dining while we were there. We are checking in on the last day ( sep 27 , 2008 ) and will have the free dining for our entire trip, thru Oct 5th, ( 9 nights total ) I really want to go over Columbus day and will give up the free dining IF we can get a good deal.

We paid just under $3000 for three ' adults ' with 9 day hoppers & fun option and the dining plan
our 2008 trip will be just under $1700 for the same exact thing

fingers are crossed for a code that will work with the dates we really want

Just called an no code...yet.. The guy my husband spoke with wasn't even really sure what we were talking about. He said that we could book, and if a promo came on, they would email us about it. He didn't even take our names or anything. Does this sound right??

Yes, that sounds right to me. The codes (if any) come up periodically, but for next October, any codes Disney chooses to release would probably come out mid-year 2008 kwim? I don't spend enough time every day checking this site and others to ensure we would be able to use a code, so we transferred our reservations to a Disney-specific travel agent.

I'm new too, but as far as I can tell, as soon as you post something you are automatically subscribed. I get email alerting me to new posts on threads that I have contributed too. On Tour Guide Mike you can actually sort through an entire Section of threads by "Show only what i have contributed to" which is a GREAT BIG TIME SAVER that I haven't found on the dis *yet anyway*. Anyway, hope that helps.
